Saw this on YT and commentated over there. Swamp coolers are pretty affordable. Compared to full on A/C units anyway.

Saw this on YT and commentated over there. Swamp coolers are pretty affordable. Compared to full on A/C units anyway. The problem here is humidity. The other day we were 90% and the temp was 95. So the swamp cooler I don't think would have made it much cooler.
I hope this fall I can get some help and finish the wall in the garage. It has insulation for the walls that needs to go in, and it needs the electrical ran through the walls. I was going to do that this year, but ran out of time before the heat hit. It is a metal building, so it does get hot. I can't do all the work myself. I can't work over my head anymore. Can no longer put my arms over my head. So I will need some help. I might see is the landlady's son can come over someday and help. I know none of my family can help. My son might if I can talk him in coming in from Maryland. But, like so much in my life, I will end up trying to do this all on my own. If it were my place, I would hire someone to come in and finish it up. Then I would not mind putting in AC. LOL!
Thanks for the comment on YT.

I know the swap cooler would add humidity which is not something you need at all. They are best suited for dry climates. But figured some could air blowing on you might help.
All steel buildings do get crazy hot inside. I've never seen the point from a builders perspective how steel buildings save you any money. Yes they go up cheaper but if you want to insulate past that foil bubble stuff you need wood frame walls to hang insulation on. No savings there at all.

The other thing is that the insulation is in the garage waiting to be installed. The bad thing is its roles of that fiberglass stuff. Ben there done that too many times. But it would be nice after it was in. Hey, why not come here and help me out? LOL! We could jam while you are here!

I worked with fibreglass / Nomex panels for over thirty years. I wouldn't be in a rush to handle it any more. I know it's a pretty obvious thing to say but any moving air (even warm air) has a cooling effect due to taking away the latent heat of evaporation. Lick the back of your hand and hold it up against a moving airstream and you can really feel its effect.
I qualified as an air conditioning / heating / internal environments design engineer, but I guess my largely forgotten 1980s theory goes out the window when confronted with the in your face reality of such extremes of temperature and humidity.
It was 34 Celcius here today. I guess that's around 93° in old money?

Well, I got my fist gripper on YT. He doesn't like my "elevator" music for the background. I use background music to try and be a little different from others on UT. I know it's corny music, but It also helps cover up some other background noises going on in the house.
I like it. But I guess some don't. So, what do you all think? Should I stop using background music? I think the videos I do would sound so blah without it.

Installing the insulation is not a difficult task. But I have developed an allergic reaction to it from years of use. You will also want to cover it once it's in place. Plastic sheeting is fine for that if the cost of sheetrock is prohibitive. As much as I'd love to help out and jam it's just not in the cards. If I ever hit the lotto all of you guys will get visits from me. But you've got to play to loose.

I posted about this, but no one said anything. It turns out the guy had no videos of his own. So I am going to mark him up as a troll. Someone that like to make comments and start things. I did tell him that I do my videos out of fun and that I am not doing them to empress anyone, and there are a lot of other videos out there that may be to his liking.
Look, I am going to do what I do. I have not figured out how to put my guitar playing in as background music. Don't know if I want to. I like to keep things lite and fun. I am not on UT to make money. If I have to, I'll go back to posting pictures. I am an old guy having some fun. Too bad, there are those out there that can't see that.

YT doesn't see comments as good or bad. But comments work in your favor as far as the algorithm is concerned. So when I get a comment that may be taken as rude or insulting I usually say "thanks for watching" or some other non combative saying. I read the comment on your and it didn't sound terribly aggressive or troll like. Some people just don't know how to phrase what they want to get across in a post. It's very different than talking to someone face to face where their expressions and body language say as much as their actual words.
Anyway with my particular hearing issues background music makes it difficult for me to hear what's being said if it's to loud. I thought the background music in this video was on the loud side I did have trouble hearing your words clearly. I hear many videos with background music. I think that idea is taken from "real movies" where the BGM is always going on at some volume or another and it's also used to drive the emotional narrative.

I think that idea is taken from "real movies" where the BGM is always going on at some volume or another and it's also used to drive the emotional narrative. I am still learning how to add things like music. I tried real hard in trying to control the music volume. It was frustrating me, so I left it at the volume that was set as default.
For me, I really don't care about algorithm and such things. I wound up deleting all the all of what he and I said. He did tell me that I should not be talking as well. He said for me to make videos with no talking, just music that I play. Not going to happen.
I do this for fun. I am not into doing videos for the hits. Is it nice to get the hits? Sure! Not in it for the money. So, on my next video I'll not put any music in the background and be boring like so many other videos. I was only wanting my videos to be different from others.
Oh, well...

Eddie I can't stand muzak but I'd never post any retort about it. I did post a churlish remark yesterday but it was regarding adverts and I was at pains to stress it wasn't the YouTuber's fault. I gave up watching that video about 10-12 minutes in after the fourth tranch of adverts. I expect someone will take issue with me but hey- the right to free speech on both sides huh? I like Dane's presentations a lot and they have no distracting muzak. So long as YouTube has intellectual property rights restrictions I reckon silence is golden.
