The weather here has took a change for the good! So now I can finish the clear coating. By Sunday all the clear coat should be done! I'll let it dry fro a few weeks then color sand buff and put it together. While this one is drying I hope to get back on some of my other builds.

The guy I got it from he and I went to this place where the guy that originally had it had died. We were told by his son that his dad had bought the wood 30+ years ago. He thought the wood was around 40 to 60 years old. I don't know you know how stories go.
But the wood is not heavy. I had to do a lot filling in. There were a lot of little pin holes in it. So it took some time before I could clear coat it. After I started the clear coat I found some more that had to be filled. But I got them filled.
can't wait to get it playing. But I had to order some more parts for it. I thought I had them all but I can't seem to find them. OH well...

Well, wouldn't you know it, yet another guitar I though I had all the parts but for some reason I'm missing a few. So I have to wait till they come in so I can Finnish this build.

Love the walnut, and yes there is loads of filling when you use that burl stuff. But the end result is worth it.
Can't wait to see the finished product.

Well, I haven't gotten to finish this yet do to some medical stuff I'm going through. I have had a really bad week with my health and the doctors can't seem to figure it out. So... I don't know when I'll get back on any of my projects at this time. But keep checking in you never know...

Well, I did get around to leveling the frets the other day. But that's as far as I got with this build. I am hopping to have her up and playing sometime this week. But I'm no big hurry.

Sorry to hear you've had a rough time with your health For me I find the guitar building therapeutic as it needs quite a lot of focus it helps take my mInd off other things This guitar is looking very nice indeed If it's neck heavy could you take anything off the headstock? It does look quite large to me ...and I hope those pin holes were not wood worm!! eek!!

No the pin holes where just that. In this kind of wood and because of the way it grows There are always some. The head stock was made from one of my templates for a T-stile. I have already made it smaller then the template. But after I put on some of the hardware It seems to leveling out, but really won't know till I get strap pegs on it and sling a strap on. If it is a little neck heavy I can always put in a little weight in the body. It is chambered and because I can get into the chamber through the back cover it should not be that hard of a fix.
Yeah I too find guitar building a or wood working does help me most of the time. But I have been in extreme pain and can do vary little. So I do what I can as I can. EB
