Got the bridge today! So sometime this week I'll get the neck on.
Hope it goes good. Nothing has been going good this month!

OK here she is with the neck being glued on. I router the neck pickup cavity as well. I also drilled the hole for the wires for the pickup.

Got some more work done on this today. Hear is a picture of the tools I used to carve this neck. (people are always asking to see the tools) A shot of the neck. pictures of the front. Still a long was off before she will be a player but it's a lot closer now. Still a lot of sanding to do. I still need to locate where the bridge is going to be and need to rout for the pickup and control cavity. EB

I found some time to work on this a little today. All I did to it today was drill the holes for the tuners and did a lot of sanding on it. I am hoping to start the finish on this by next weekend. So that means I have to get all the routing done. But the clear coat for this build may or may not happen too fast because the weather here is getting colder and colder. I may have to heat up the garage then turn off the heater so I can get the clear on. We'll have to wait and see what happens. I'm really excited to get this one up and playing. The walnut is so cool!!! No mater how you look at it, it has a cool looking figuring of wood all over it. Being black walnut though it darkens up a lot when you spray clear on it.
The other thing I'm liking is the this build is lite. It has to be the lightest guitar I have built yet!

OK... some more things came in the mail today for this build so I'll be back on it this week as long as I can keep the garage warm.

Got the frets finished up today! and I got the pickup (bridge) cavity routed and I even got the holes drilled for the volume and tone pots. I want to get the control cavity on the back done tomorrow plus the input jack hole drilled. If I get that done then it's back to some sanding and if everything goes well, then maybe I can start clear coating this project. EB

OK... I got all the routing done on this today!!! Glad that's done. I also got the control cover made for the back. All I need to do now is mount the bridge, and I also need to drill the hole for the bridge ground wire and drill for the bridge pickup wire. After that it's sand and start the clear coat. So maybe some time in Jan. It will be up and playing!

The weather here got into the 50's so I decided to go head and start putting to the tung-oil. I got 2 coats on and WOW is this going to be one nice looking guitar. I really like the walnut. I try and get some pictures up as soon as I can.

Walnut is one of those rare woods that there's no clear finish you can put on it that won't make it look fabulous.

OK here some pictures of how it's coming out so far. A few more coats and I'm going to call it done as far as the clear coating goes.

WOW Eddie, that burl really pops with the clear. I did a walnut tele once but the guy wanted a real dark red mag and you could just barely see the grain. It wouldn't have looked as good as your piece of wood though. The middle one That's the only pic I got, sorry the glare is killer.

Well, the thing with the gold is I had already bought the bout the hardware in Chrome/nickle before I got it this far. I really don't want to spend the money on Gold at the moment. Not only that gold seems to fade to fast. I have a few guitar with gold and they already look years older than they should. My Les Paul custom has gold on it and is faded/tarnished but it was made back in 1970/71. But I might change my mind later on. I still have a ways to go before the finish is done.
