Just goes to prove it's always somthin! It's coming along Eddie! yep! Seems like it happens a lot here of late. Having some issues. Going to the doctor on Wednesday. Going to take a close look at my frontal lobe shrinkage. I think that is were I am having some problems form. I'll see what my new doctor has to say.
But, I'll keep on keeping on. I do have some days that are better.
Today, I'll see how far I can get this project/build. I hope I can get more of what I was wanting to do yesterday.

Hey all! I have had a bad day today. I really feel like giving up on guitar building or anything else building.
It took me all day to rout out the neck pocket today. I measured so many times and put marks on my rulers and still messed up.
So, make a long story short I now have to fill in the neck pocket, because it was routed off center (more crooked) I was going to route it then shim it. But I think it will better to fill it in and redo it.
So, I am not going to post any pictures of the mess up. I don't know how the measurements got off, but it did. I am so tired of things going wrong. I have never had this many thing go wrong on a build at one time. I know there are problems that creep up, but here of late it seems to happening in everything I do. Not just guitars.
Oh it wasn't only the neck pocket I messed up. But the neck too. I think I can save it. I hope I can. I wound up sanding the sides of the neck (somehow) when I was trying to round over the neck corners. So, not on one side on both sides of the neck in almost the same place. I have this curve that goes into the bindings. So, tomorrow I'll see if I can fix that after I make a plug for the neck pocket.
I will finish this build on way or another. I am also going to finish the other guitar with the cloth top at some point. But once they are done I think I am going to have to reevaluate some things.
I have this somewhat new condition going on with me. I have shrinkage of the front lobe on my brain. I have been noticing a big change in of late. It cannot be cured. It will only get worse. I have a lot of the things that is involved with this kind of thing. My speech, motor skills, my reasoning, and so on. Men and women can get it. But, from what I read it harder on the men. It seems that it happens more rapidly on men. I haven't felt like myself In the last few months. When I see my new doctor, I am going to have the doctor order me another MRI of my head. I want to see if it's gotten worse and of so how bad is it?
OK enough of that! I am so frustrated. Getting old is hard... EB

You've mentioned this in passing before Eddie and it's far from good news. I don't have any faith, but I'll match it with the best vibes I can muster Brother. The guitar is what it is in the grand scheme of things and will come good eventually under your influence. Focus Mate, focus on yourself. Respect.

This thing that I have just makes things harder to do. Now this with the nerve pain I have lived with for a lot of years, is really taking a tole on me. Next year will be interesting for me. But once I get this guitar built, I really going to have to look things over to see if I will continue on building guitars or not. If this thing going on with me gets any worse, I can't see me keeping it going with making guitars.
This stuff is what has been making my hands and arms shake, I also have to at time sit and think of what I am doing before I can do it. we live upstairs. Yesterday I had to stand at the top of them and think of how to walk down them for a couple of min. And yes here within the last couple of months, it has also effected me in playing guitar. It not that I can't remember how to play, it's making my hands work to let me play. Not fun at all. Like I said, I have days were it seems to worse than others.
I really don't know what I am going to do at this stage of things. I am trying to have as much fun as I can right now as I can.
Sorry, I don't mean to be a downer. I want people to know about this stuff. It gets misdiagnosed as schizophrenia. Because it has the same that goes on with it. So, people need to know that because someone seems to be out of it or that they are slow in doing things does not mean that they are acting out. It's because they have an issue called "frontal lobe shrinkage"
Like Dane said that he had not heard of this. There are a lot of people that have not heard of it. I only knew of it because I have know a person that had had the same thing. It's almost like having Alzheimers. It to has a lot of the same symptoms.
But, I will be making my new doctor do some more testing. To see what options I have or don't have.

OK this build is not going to happen. I found a really long crack in the mahogany lower wing. So, I decided to start a whole new build for the leather. I am going to to ahead and try again, only this time I am going to do a neck through. It will burn up some wood, but, that is what I bought it for.
Neck through guitars is my favorite guitars. Not only to build but to play. So, starting tomorrow I'll be cutting some woods up and getting them ready for gluing up. I will more than likely let the neck blank sit until after the first of the year.
So, I will start another post of it then.
So, while I am letting the neck blank cure up, I'll get back onto the fabric guitar and try and get it done before Christmas. I guess this build was not meant to be. I am not giving up on it, at some point I'll get it out and see if I can fix the crack and neck pocket. I just don't want to use it for the leather. I want this guitar to be better than a saved body and neck. This guitar means to much to me to not be one of my best! The leather won't go on until I am sure that the build is my best.
My son is going to make me another logo for the new neck though. I figured it was better than trying to remove the other one from the neck that I had already done. I fees sad that I was not able to get this build going the way I wanted it to. But, maybe it's for the best/ Only time will tell.

Sometimes fate has a way of working her evil ways Eddie. I feel like you gave it your very best shot so there's no shame. Full steam ahead with your neck through now.

What Steve said! And I totally agree with your decision to not put something as special and dear as yours sons handiwork on a blemish guitar. Just got to draw the line and move on.
