Looks good Eddie! I really enjoy the fretting process. I recently updated my fretboard radius-ing procedure. I made a bed and a sled for my little router. I'm sure you've seen it in action in a video or two. But it enables me to route the radius onto the fretboard. Then very little hand sanding is involved to clean it up. I like that maple board, looks sweet! I keep saying I am going to make one of those. Maybe after this build I am going to do that. I need to make a few jigs as well. That would be a good thing for me to do for my channel. making jigs for guitar building. Hum...
That, maple is awesome! I bought the whole 10' board of it. I could even make a top for a guitar out of it and still have a lot left over for other things. I'll have to see what is in the future for it.
Today I hope to get the fretting done. I did make a video, but I don't think I am going to load it up to YT. Thinking of going back to pictures and captions. I am not getting any responses at all on the last few videos. So I feel like I am wasting my time. I only have 14 subscribers. YT doesn't seem all that interested in keeping my videos out there. I just don't want to spend the money and time on making the videos as well. I also refuse to make them half naked as well. LOL!

Bottom line on YT is most people want to be entertained. Doesn't really matter if the info if accurate or not as long as the presenter is funny or sexy. Or better yet, both. They're a lot of female guitar players I would like to watch to see if they have any chops. But their lack of attire keeps me from taking the bait. Most the GGBO was a popularity contest. Still not sure why some of those guitars got high marks and why others didn't. As far as guitar building YT channels go it's very saturated. So you have to be pretty far out there to get noticed. I've been in for over 10 years now. I wouldn't consider it a success from the business side of things, But I have meet some good folks along the way. And everybody is busy so you can't take a no comment video personally. Me personally, If I'm going to comment on a video I will usually do so on the first site I see it on. So if I see it here first that's where I will comment. And I may very well forget to comment. I forget a lot these days.

So if I see it here first that's where I will comment. And I may very well forget to comment. I forget a lot these days. yes one reason I don't do full on builds on YT. There are so many people doing the same thing. I see no need for me to do a play by play thing showing the whole build. On this guitar, I really wanted to document the build more than show int it being built. So I am going to stick to that. I may do a video on how I am going to attach the leather top onto the guitar body. There is hardly anything out there on how to glue leather to wood. So that might be a good video to do.
So from here on out I'll be doing video of the builds and not how I made them. I'll making videos for if nothing else so that people can see I do indeed build them carve them or so on. I never will forget the time guy tried to take my pictures of a build and tried to tell people that he made the guitar.
I put him in his place because I had pictures of the build he didn't. He got band form that forum.
PK back to work on this build. EB

OK, this took me longer than I had planed. but oh well, I got it this far.
Here is a tip on how I do frets. I use some tape folded over at the ends and stick it on my table. I then cut the fret for a slot and I stick them to the tape. This way they stay put while hammering the fret in.
This is how I get rid of the tang that I don't need. This really works well. The belt sand paper is the same thickness as the tang. Once the fret hits the sand paper I know it done.
I glue in my frets using CA glue. I don't think I needed to this time because that maple is super hard. the fret went in pretty tight. I know a lot of people don't like to glue in frets. But by the time this guitar gets old enough to have a refret it will be time to hang it on the wall and look at it! LOL!
Here are the frets all in. This is before I do any fret work on them.
You are now looking at what I call a pre leveling. I leveled the frets and I also dress the ends of the frets. I use a 30 degree angle on the end of my frets.
here is another angle. I can't believe It took me all afternoon to get this far. I did have a problem with one of the frets not wanting to seat all the way down. I solved it. Wasn't what I really wanted to do but I did anyways.
So, like I said I had a problem with the last fret number 22. I wasted 4 tries in trying to get the fret to seat. The only thing I could come up with was, when I cut the fret slot I did not cut it deep enough. So I had two choices. I could cut the neck off at the 22sd fret and loose the fancy end or I could recut the slot through the binding. So, I filled the slot with CA glue let it dry and then I re cut the slot. I then filled the slot with ca and some saw dust. It looks OK. I thin once the neck is glued in I don't think anyone will see the patch. Well, I am really hurting right now. I am going to go to bed and take my meds.
Later on this week I'll start the carving on this. OH, I called the fret job a "Pre" fret leveling. I have learned one is not always done with the frets until after the build is done. I think I have had maybe 5 guitars that I have built that I didn't have to level the frets on. All the rest of them I have had to do fret work on. For me I don't like doing fret work. But it has gotten better working on them over all the years.
But at least now one of the hard parts is done for now. EB

Looks good Eddie.
On that one fret another way to go could have been to file some of the tang off so it would seat. The CA would hold it in. Remember the Parker Fly guitar? Those frets were just glued to the CF neck.

And sitars have (moveable?) bits of twine for "frets".

Well, once again I am going to take some time off from this build. My wife and are sick. Not fun for both of us to be sick at the same time. Our doctor wants us to go get a COVID-19 test. There are only two places here that does that. The hospital and urgent care. Try and get hold of one or the other. What a joke!
Well, anyways, don't know when I'll get back on this guitar. But I hope soon. EB

I hope you're both clear Eddie. Everything crossed for you, but- should the worse come to the worst, if you've been double jabbed it should be more very unpleasant than life threatening. I know an octagenarian fella who got Covid after having both jabs, and he just said that it really wasn't very nice in that understated war babies manner.

Keep us updated Eddie. You know you old people got to be carful. Smile, I'm typing this as I sit very dizzy and came home from work when I really shouldn't have gone in the first place. But tested negative from C-19 with a rapid test at the school the wife works at.

But tested negative from C-19 with a rapid test at the school the wife works at. My doctor was all over me about getting tested. But there is only one place that does the testing where we live. It seems to me if this is so bad then why aren't there more places that can do the testing. Makes no since at all. So now we have to go to a walk in clinic and sit around for hours to have the test done. They wouldn't even tell us how much the test cost. We have to go in to find that out. What a racket!

If so it's not supposed to be as bad. But praying for you both my friend. Sorry to hear as well. Especially with your other health concerns.

Unwanted tidings Eddie. As Dane said, provided you're not in the anti-vaxer's camp you should be alright, except it likely won't be a pleasant ride. Fingers and toes crossed by both of us for both of you.
