That should end up looking pretty good Eddie. The clear coat will bring back the life and clarity.

That should end up looking pretty good Eddie. The clear coat will bring back the life and clarity. I did some test on it before I stopped working on it. It does come to life.
I did learn some things with this one that I do different on the next one. Like paint the wood white then apply the cloth. The natural wood shows through the white parts of the cloth. Made the white parts look darker.
Also on the next one I think I'm going to layer the clear on it and not use the epoxy. Or go a lot thinner with the epoxy. The other thing I learned is to put the cloth on before cutting the body out and doing any routing. I think it would go smoother.

I'm telling you Eddie the Texas Toast method / my method really does work the best. But the simtech polyester they/ I use is costly and brain damaging. I'm even going to try a different seal coat next time. Well I will when I run out of simtech.

I'm even going to try a different seal coat next time. Well I will when I run out of simtech. Yes, but my problem is no air compressor. If I ever get to a place to were I can have one and a spray gun, I will go with another way of clearing a guitar. I use to do some cool things with a jam gun. Almost like air brushing. Did a lot of custom work on dashboard on cars with a jam gun/touch up.
I sure miss them days. I did look into the 2K stuff. But at the time I didn't like having a short shelf life. It too is expensive. But now I see that they have come out with one that you don't have to worry about the shelf life. But I have not seen to many things on it of how good it is or not.
Once this project is done, It will be a while before my next one. Still need to to that wood store that someone told me about. Sure would like to see what they have and how much I can buy and keep at the Condo. Be nice to pick up some cool woods for my next build I am wanting to do.

I use a weenie roller for the simtech. Two good coats and sand smooth. Than any top coatbreally would work. I happened rot use 2K auto urethane but tru oil would work. Or spray can lacquer.

That is what I'm going to use on this one. Spray can lacquer. The temp outside is still over the 90 mark and still a lot of humid air. So it's on hold until I can catch a brake in the weather. I don't know if it's the drugs the doctor has me on or what, but I get over heated quick these days. So I have to wait on cooler weather.
Plus our son is going to take us on vacation with him and his family. So we will be gone for a while.

I had the same reaction Eddie, but may be a little harder to track down over here.

Got a brake in the weather today. So, I am going to try and get the finish on this today!
I resprayed the black (because of sanding through) Letting it dry right now. So, If I am lucky and the wind is blowing right, I should be able to get the clear on later on today.
Super nice day for spraying paint. Can't hardly wait to get this build done.

Got the clear on. Now to let cure for a while, then I color sand and buff this out and start putting it together. I'll get some pictures later on. But it came to life.
I used almost two can of Lacquer on it. This new Lacquer says it dries in 15 min. and cures all the way in about 7 hours. But I think I am going to let cure longer. I have been on this build this long so a few more days is not going to hurt.

Steady as she goes Eddie.
Easily done Eddie. I used two cans of nitro on a Warmoth Tele neck once, and I still didn't quite manage to "lose" the decal edges.
