My only experience with water based paint is as a brushed on gloss for interiors woodwork, and I can confidently say "never again". The planet will just have to whistle.

So the trick is to not spray on wet coats, right? But dry coats don't lay out so there is a lot of sanding to flatten them out. Yes it's a pain but so is not being able to remember anything or finish sentences. Because of the toxic nature of other finishes.

Extraction and PPE is the key. There are some fancy over the head positive pressure masks these days. I have an over the face rubber mask that is by now some twenty years out its of use by date. I used one exactly the same at least 25 years ago while brushing etch primer onto a welded aluminium alloy framework on the floor at work. All the guys on the shop floor were hooting, hollering and swearing at me and it wasn't until I finished and took the mask off that I realised why! The point is that if you can smell something you're inhaling it and I couldn't smell anything at all. I retrieved my mask from the shed at the start of Covid, broke the seal, put it on and it was still fine. Gradually I came to the conclusion that I would probably garner baffled hostility if I went about in public wearing it, so I should have left it sealed in its bag. That is /was a really good mask no argument, probably "3M", I'll check and report. Basically any mask claiming to be a vapour/vapor mask should be just as good?

The lovey wife does not tolerate chemicals well. Plus I'm afraid the neighbors will smell it and call the police.

Yeah that reminds me of when I used to come home from work and Best Beloved could smell the cocktail of Genklene and Scotchweld on me and my clothes. I was always unaware.

I would be the same was after painting cars. The worst smell was gear oil. That old gear oil in old cars and tusks never would go away no matter how many times you would wash off.
Good looking body. Your customer is getting something special.

This one is in the box ready to go and wouldn't you know it, I didn't even get a still shot of the finished guitar. What a Bozo. But it made a brief appearance in my last video. The happy new year 2022 update.

The guitar got to Alabama. It took 8 days. Was delivered in perfect condition and the owner is very happy with it. I bought the shipping boxes from Stew Mac bare guitar with now case, cause this guy already has extra cases. These boxes are not cheap but neither is shipping broken guitars back and forth. My customer paid for the box and shipping so I'm not complaining. He was also nice enough to take some pics for me since I forgot. He also mentioned that some of the small detail in the pics doesn't really show up. Like the pearl dots, gold trim on the logo, the staggered tuners and the gold frets. He also mentioned it is SO well done and the set is really dialed in. Where all that is true and it sounds like I am bragging to repeat it all. But it just means so much to me that my client noticed and like it enough to say so. Well I guess about wraps it up for this one.

Looks good! Where inAL is he? I live in Foley ALABAMA maybe I could help out should he ever need the the guitar looked after? Not trying to take your customer. I was thinking that it would be cheaper than sending it back to you if it needs something in the future. I would not mind looking after it for you. EB

Dane -- That one really turned out great. Really like the neck joint and the lam neck - that thing will never shift.
