All - I have a Tube Works RT-902 rackmount tube preamp, a rackmount MV-962 MOSValve power amp (2x80 watts @ 4 ohms) and two 2x12 cabinets (one with Celestion V30s, one with Celestion G12T-70s) and each can run stereo or mono. The cabinets have a removable panel to add tonal options. All are in like-new condition. These were very popular in the late-80s and early-90s with lots of high profile users. I recently drug this rig out of storage and it sounds killer, but I just don't use it. It would be a great rock or country rig, loud enough for just about any gig. It would also be great to use with modelers or "all in one" floor boards. I will give you an incredible deal...DM if you are interested. Thanks, John

I've had some questions about this rig. I encourage you all to take a look at this and check to see how much Celestion speakers cost. These jewels are from the 90s and were made in the UK.
And yes, it sounds great. Do we need a demo?

That is a good sounding amp....maybe I should just keep it...
A pattern re-emerges.

I'd buy it in heart beat if your skill came with it! Sadly I have two very nice old amps that I don't get to play in my present band situation. Very good demo and great sounding set up John.

It's true that your guitar skills are pretty good John, and that of course helps when demo-ing. Kind of similar to selling a car with rain drops all over! That said, I fancy we're all smart enough to discern the difference between the playing and the sounds? It sounds just great to me and at that asking price it's almost a giveaway for someone without prejudicial baggage.
Over here, I see lots of things available Stateside- always have done since childhood (remember those little ads at the back of Marvel comics?) but every time those hoary old chestnuts of carriage and taxes strikes horror into a lustful mind. If it was otherwise, I would have Dane tweak my Firebird in a heartbeat- even after the improvement following the truss rod and remedial nut work. I think it's high time that customs officials stopped applying taxes on second user equipment. That stuff has already paid its tax dues. I'm not going to hold my breath though...
I hope it sells if you really do want to move it on? Someone will strike lucky.

Thanks for the kind words.
I’ve had a few bites on the rig, but I just can’t measure up to Amazon with free shipping....and people still ask.

Good man! I am useless at selling stuff so in the end I seldom bother to try. That"s why I have so much "stuff" squirrelled away.

John, glad you were able to move the rig. I'm sure someone got a great deal.
Steve, you sound like me. I've built and sold a couple of house's and never get out with what I thought I would. My bit for the economy, buy high, sell low. Just keep the money moving. I have the same problem with cars.

I was checking some threads and found this one. I was not able to sell the TubeWorks rig, and, for some reason, I'm still getting a lot of views on YouTube!
It has a safe resting place in my underground lair (basement) and I guess I am going to keep it.
It does sound good....

WOW! How come I am seeing this for the fist time? It does sound good. The thing I have learned about selling things is this.... I'll put something up for sale and if it does not sell, I take it off any listing, and repost it at another time. Sometimes a couple of months. Seems after I repost it I sell or trade it off. Not to long ago I had a guitar up for sale. A USA Tele. It did not sell, not one bite. Pretty rare not to get on person to at least ask about a T. 2 months later I reposted it for more money and sold it the first hour. I had like 25 people wanting it. It came down to fist come first get it kind of thing.
It's odd how things work out. I also use to sell Hot wheel cars. I was into the rare ones. I had a lot of them and knew what they where worth. I had one that I posted on eBay after I seen the exact kind of car go for a lot of money. The one that sold had like 125 people bidding on it. So a week later I posted mine. Not one bid. I did have one guy email me about the car only to offer me some stupid price for it and wanted me to ship it for free. I wound up selling it and my whole collection to a privet dealer. He gave two times what I had in my collection. I had about 300+ cars.
I have an acoustic guitar that I have been trying to sell. Same thing. I get these people trying to trade me junk or trying to offer me a price way under what it's worth. So, I have it up for sale many times. I am at the point I think I'll keep it. It's a nice acoustic. It also has a real nice hard case for it. The case alone is worth more than what some have offered me for the guitar.
So, this market these day's I don't know what the heck is going on. But I know I am not going to sell it at a give it away price. I sell only good quality items for a fair price. Unlike some of the junk I see being offered for a high price... lol!
Yes I would keep it too. I had a rack mount Peavey 50/50 tube amp. Wish I had never sold it. I was going to get another one. But to this date I have not found another one. I did see some years ago someone playing thorough on like I had. I tried to buy or trade for it. But he didn't want to let it go.

Thanks, Eddie -- I need to crank up the TubeWorks rig soon.
I played a gig last week with my Line6 board, a Seymour Duncan solid state amp, and a little Port City 1-12" cab. It had plenty of power, and really sounded great.
I told my buddy I liked the rig because I could get it in my little Subaru and I could carry it all myself. I love the bigger cabs, but I think I've kind of graduated from that phase of moving my own gear.
The TubeWorks 2x12 are really great, thought. You can take the back off and they are pretty light. Very versatile.
I bought them when I lived in Atlanta. My son and I drove over to the guy's house and he let me try them out. He gave me a good deal and asked me if I would give him guitar lessons! I declined on the lessons, but I do like the way they sound. One has Vintage 30s and the other has G12M-70s - a pretty good mix.

I've seen your playing in videos John and it is effortlesly fluid, so I can well understand why lessons were sought. That said, teaching is a whole other enchilada compared to simply playing. I could not teach because I cannot slow down what I can do in the sense that much of the time I don't actually know what I'm doing. I would happily pay for eyeball lessons from you, but I'm unclear what the return might be because I'm an old dog with a lazy take on new tricks.

John I remember back in late 60's early 70s carrying around my stack and head. WOW! What was I thinking back then. But I was also 15 year old, I thought I was cool on stage. LOL! But sometime in the late 70's I bought my fist combo Rolland Jazz Chorus 120. Wow!!! I was able to set up in no time. Didn't kill myself trying to stack up my cabs. Or trying to get my stack on stage. I had that Rolland for many years. I sold right before moving back to FL from AZ. What a great amp! Never gave me one bit of trouble. Always sounded great! Took pedals Great! That was back in my pedal days. But it was just as heavy as many tube amps. I now play through a Peavey Delta Blues, and my custom made 64 Fender-ish Princeton both amps are around 35watt. the DB is a one 15" speaker and the other is a 12" tone tubby speaker. The Tone tubby has more bass over tones in it than the DB 15" does. But I like them both for what I do these days. It will be nice to be able to crank them both up once I get moved in to our new place! EB
