I have sunburst hollowbody by the same company as yours. Mine has the F-holes and had the same trem as yours. All it has is the crown logo, no serial number. It has a Made in Japan stamp on the bolt on neck cover. It is missing the spring for the tremolo, the plastic off the selector switch and has three strat type tone knobs. The knobs have aged nicely and the original one is pretty interesting. My bridge looks exactly like yours. I also have the zero fret. Mine is in nice condition for the most part but has damaged binding on the sides of the neck, as well as a few dings. I got it from a guy who was working as a garbage man and plucked it from the trash to save it. Another thing about mine I don't understand is it is like a country Gentleman shape put it is slightly offset with it being offset for for a left handed player, but the nut is set up right handed as well as the tone controls and trem. Do you know anything about the company that makes these?

I can't figure out how to ad attachments. My email is rep0ck@yahoo.com. If you want to send me your email, I will send you some pictures. I'm not sure if I will do much to this project, the guts need to come out and be re soldered. I see some unattached wires and the output jack has fallen into the body. I don't think I will love this guitar but it will be interesting to get it going and to learn some new skills. I'm bidding tomorrow on a 1968 Barney Kessel Gibson than I am hoping to get at an estate sale. It is the only guitar up for sale. I'm running out of hooks on the wall! I was after a used relic fender a few months ago that sold minutes before I got there. It has changed my outlook on guitars a little. I always kept my guitars pristine. One Guitar I have had for 26 years and still has no scratches. Not that I am going to beat my guitars up but I am liking the mojo that older guitars have. Sort of like the antique cars that are just primered on the body but have amazing engines.

I use photo bucket for posting pictures. You have to have some source like photo bucket to post on sites like this. You can't post from your computer or phone as far as I know. EB

From a PC you need a photo host like flicker or photobucket. But you upload from an I phone of ipad. One pic per Piet is bit of a pain but you can list.

Edit the URLs thus: at the beginning of each image url, add the text [/img] and at the end [/img] Don't use the forward slash in the first set of square brackets. If I don't include the superfluous forward slash in the first set of square brackets, Proboards tries to insert an image! But this is not the best way... you should click on the sharing icon associated with your chosen image that has been uploaded to Photobucket. Select the option to "copy link to clipboard" then select the bottom option and <copy> the text to the clipboard. Then you paste that into your post. Unfortunately, when I do that I have to edit out the unwanted text to leave just the url between the sets of square brackets. If I don't edit the chaff out then the page displays the url along with the image. What you should be aiming at is to have all from "http" to ".jpg" enclosed between those pairs of square brackets. There must be a simpler way, it used to be easier but things change. Perhaps someone else can correct me (without derailing the thread too much further!) Use square brackets as indicated. You can paste in as many image links as you want... over to you!

In photo bucket there is what they call a direct link... click on it... then use press down on the ctrl key and then the "x" on your key board. (the is cut and paste. this in the reply or new window in Guitar Attack thread, there is an icon at top that looks like a picture. click on it and a window opens.. now hold the ctrl key down again and the "V" key and it will post in the box you just opened. then click on insert image. the it will post on the board. then you type in what ever you want. I know it sound like a lot, but after a few time you don't even really thing about it. EB

that is a really cool and clean looking guitar. The pickups that is in that sound really good. At least I like the way they sound.

Thanks for sharing those photos.
I think my guitar and yours are at least a few years apart. Notice the different version of the crown logo. I'll have to take a look at the old tuners, if I can find them, to see how they match up. There were no pups when I got it but the PU ring that came on mine (no guarantee it is original, but no extra holes drilled either) is different. Looks like it was smaller than a mini HB but larger than the pups on yours.
I could find no other marks but the logo on mine either.

I got the pictures added properly thanks to Commander. I will do the electronics in the late fall likely. I am an RCMP constable in Alberta and things are too busy in the Summer to spend the time needed to do the electronics. It is not the type of thing I like to pick away at. I like to get things back together soon after I take them apart while I remember how it came out. I can't wait to hear how it sounds.

That's a really clean guitar. It looks closely related to Univox and most likely came from the Matsumoku factory.

I have the exact starburst version as the pictures just posted. Has anyone found any info on this brand/history/age of these? I've had this thing for going on 5 years and have no idea what it is.

The closes one I could find is a Kinston. They were made back in the 60's. the other one that comes close would a Univox. I looked under "crown" but did not find anything. But back in the day a lot of these made in Japan guitars were made in the same factory's and many of them looked the same with different names on them. Teico was another one. The bad thing I had found on these cool old guitars are no number are on them. Most of them had sticker labels on the peg heads, and they came off as time went on. Or a lot of us back then would take the labels off. LOL! So it makes it hard to pinpoint who they were made by or for. But I bet Hoz, could give you more info on this stile of guitar than I can. EB
