Good points Dane. It's really not the waiting part from me.
I been trying to find something that will work well. So far some of the stuff in spray cans just are not cutting it. They peel off, won't cure, and so on. So I like to use Tung oil. But it I have found with it, that some times I get it and it has a lite amber color to it, and other times it's really dark. So it changes the way the wood looks. I liked the way my Walnut LP came out using the acrylic, BUT... after having the guitar sit in the stand I now have marks were the guitar sits in the stand on the body edges. Showing that the acrylic has not cured as well.
I don't have the space to use a spry gun and the air compressor to use a spray gun... So my hunt is for something that will dry or cure all the way. I am so tired of re doing the finish on my guitars. If the bees wax oil would stay on for a longer time I would use it on all my guitars. But I don't want to have to use it every day.

I have one more step I'm going to try on my Pauduk guitar. Next time I pull the strings I'm going to paste way, with either Johnson's or Mix wax finishing wax, then buff it on the wheel. See how that turns out. I want to get away from spraying lacquer although I like the process and the finish because of health reasons and being back in town in a neighborhood I don't need unhappy neighbors.

I wish I could afford a house to live in. I live in an APT. and i am always getting complainants about one thing or another. One person doesn't like me sawing wood, and that person also don't like it when I spray my guitars, and he also don't like me playing my guitar. Ha! I asked him then what can I do that I won't be bugging you? Do you want me to live in my APT. with all windows closed and not make any noise? I don't think that's going to happen... So I know what it's like to live around people that are so close. But I stay at home, take care of my Mom, and more times than not I work on my builds in the after noon. I mean I could complain about the things others do, but I don't. We all have a right to some kind of life, and it's not the one that other try and impose on you. Sorry about the rant. Still not feeling good... Still waiting for a doctors appointment to tell me what my MRI tells us. Frustrating!! EB

Here is another finishing option that could be placed into the basket of available choices. www.wudtone.com/2012/03/23/finishing-diykits/I have no connection with this company whatsoever. They do have a rather interesting and new(ish) take on the ubiquitous trem-Leo too. I was searching for something to liven up the plain zebrawood on my Firebird. It turns out that you must have absolutely no finish at all on the wood, that is- no sealer, so I had to rule it out. If the claims are to be believed, the finish is relatively easy to apply and there is no requirement for spraying equipment. Moreover the "learning curve" ought to be quite easy to negotiate. Perhaps it is just stains and French polish- I wouldn't like to say! As there is no spraying requirement, it might be a viable solution for some of us. I nitro-cellulose lacquered a Warmoth "Tele" neck using aerosols in my shed, and given that experience, I would give serious consideration to this product before attempting that feat again. As I said- no connection and no experience etc. Offered just as a potential alternative.

Found the Wudtone on eBay in the US. May give it a try.

Went on eBay, I did find it. As far as I could see it is sold by on company here in the USA. I have not looked anywhere else as of yet. Looks like a good product. Comes in a lot of colors as well as clear or clear with a tint added to it. The price is a little high, but I guess you can get more then one guitar out of it.
