I went on about grounding and so on and clean forgot to give you a thumbs up for that bridge saddles preset tip Eddie. It's so obvious I don't know why it has never occurred to me before, and I do try to reason things out normally. e&oe ...Yep I think most people try to reason things out. But there as some that do make me go Hum... EB

The only GGBO I've watched so far is Dane's, and I don't see that situation changing anytime soon Eddie (Unless you or John take part that is!)

I have not yet gotten to making this sound off yet. The last 2 days have been really nice here. So I decided to work on the other guitar while the weather is nice. EB

I obviously have an opinion about that, that I will keep to myself. I assume it's a shot at building a YT channel. And some of the most incompetent guitar builders/whaterevers have very large channels. As displayed by the Invitational side of the competition. So here's a handful of builders that I enjoy watching. In no particular order. Cept for this one or two. To be continued in RABBIT TRAIL.

OK, Once again the weather changed here again. Humid! So I took yesterday off from doing anything because my drugs and me were not getting along. So, today I decided to work on Ms Candy.
I got her fired up and playing. I did a set up on it, and got it playing. I have two or 3 frets giving me some hassles, but nothing to bad. I still need to thin down the truss rod cover and I need to put the 3 way switch cover on. But, I am going to let it sit for a day or two to let things settle in before I do anything else to it.
She is sounding pretty good. The only thing I may do later on is put a 33 cap in it. I now remember why I don't like the 47 caps. LOL!
So In another week I should be able to get a video up on this build.
So here she is as she sit right now.

She's a beauty Eddie. Lovely grain. I'm undecided about the control knobs because being so contrasty against the timber they kind of pop out? I would have suggested smaller or perhaps darker knobs but it's irrelevant really with the zebra pups. Don't listen to me Bro', I'm just waffling. As I said- she's a cracker!

But I had already drilled the holes. I had two black ones that are smaller . I ordered these and for what ever reason they were a little bigger than the other ones. I might at some point make some out of teakwood. Right now I want to get done with the tweaks that she needs and get my other build done. EN

Spot on Eddie, it's difficult to be objective with a snap on the internet. You'll know better than me what it needs. Still and all, I didn't want to just shower platitudes and avoid what my reaction was telling me.
As you said only recently- he who can does, (he cannot teaches!) Probably a paraphrase? I think that may have been attributable to Louis Pasteur. Then again- he also said "Work is the greatest pleasure in life".The rest of us survive off the back of doers such as yourself, and we know it even if few admit as much.

Since this one is so close to being done here is the run down on here;
The teak wood used was $37.00 US per 24 x 24" slab of laminated teak wood. It is also a try 1" thick.
It took 2 of them to make this guitar and neck. So $74.00 + tax for the wood.
The knobs were $9.93 free shipping
the input jack and housing was $9.10 free shipping 3 way switch in cream was $8.27 free shipping
The 4 CTS long shaft 500k pots were $20.75 free shipping The string through bridge was $16.10 free shipping the Wilkinson MWHZ 'HOT' ZEBRA Humbucker Pickup Set was $38.95 free shipping
NEW Gotoh SG360-05 MG Magnum Locking Tuners L3+R3 w/ OVAL Buttons 3x3 - CHROME $51.95 free shipping
10 PCS GUITAR BONE NUT BLANKS INLAY MATERIAL 2" x 1" x 1/8" #T-666 $14.00 free shipping.
comes in around $243.05 Plus there is sand paper, tun oil finish, My time, (what ever that is worth) The frets, strings, truss rod, and some other things. So I'll add another $100.00 for miscellaneous.
Far as time spent. I charge $75.00 an hour to work on guitars. So that part of the build is any body guess. LOL!
So $300.00 and some change for all of the supply's and hardware to build this guitar. So, not to bad. Took me 3 months to build. Again not to bad considering Weather, and my health and waiting on parts.
I did not keep track of the hours to build this. So that part would be hard to guess. But if I was to guess in time I would guess around $3,000 for the labor to build this guitar. And that is a guess.
That is at 40 hr. for the build. I know I have more then that in it.
But if I were to sell it I would like to get $1,200.00 for it. But the way I feel right now I don't want to sell it. LOL!
So, I wanted to share the cost so maybe someone can see how things are when it comes to a build. It's not cheap, But if compared to store bought it is a cheap way to go if you want to build a guitar on your own. Building guitar are fun to do and the can also be frustrating at times. But once you get the wood dust in your vanes it's hard not to build guitars. We use to tease people on here, once you build one you will never get it out of your system. That has held true for me.

Well, OK, I am working on this build. Trying to get the final things done on it. It's been sitting around long enough. Plus I am now feeling better after my ordeal at the ER.
I had to do a re-leveling for the 12th up frets. I was telling Dane that neck set neck I do I will wait until the neck is set then resand the fret board. In hope to keep from having to do this again. I think from gluing in the neck it causes the neck heal to swell up and that causes the frets to rise up do to the wood swelling up.
I also need to finish sand the nut. I ran out of polishing wheels, so I have to do the polishing by hand for the frets. I hope this week to have a video on Ms Candy. At least I hope to. LOL!
Well, it's been a trying week for me. My friend passing away, then me in the ER. Plus I have been helping my friends wife out with the selling of his guitars. She needs the money to pay off medical bills. I don't know when but she is going to have a auction for the guitars and other things my fried owned.
Well, that's all the new for today. I'll get back with ya all as soon as I can a video up and going.

There you go, with all you have going on and still putting others first. It would possibly be kind of nice if you could have one of those guitars in memory of your friend?

Rough week for sure Eddie. Never easy loosing our friends but going through their belongings is very difficult. We just had a memorial for a long time friend of mine who passed due to Covid.
Do I have to remind you again to take your time on these guitars. Nobody's waiting on you to get these done, right?
