I queried the A.I. without using reference to MAZAK/ZAMAK but it still threw up references to such. I thought that was a fairer way to deploy such technology. I also kept screenshots and a locally saved web page in the event that a gaggle of suitably remunerated legal idividuals decided to descend upon my tranquility. For now, the item is still listed:
235519895842
and you can read ZAMAK in the listing description. You can deploy A.I. too unless your google-fu is better than mine!

ZAMAK / MAZAK.
This is a low melting temperature pot-pourris of metals which makes casting easier. It is known to be brittle but I think that's related to a time related issue with the zinc in the mix causing weaknesses.
Castings are strong in compression but weak under tension. Whichever way you roll the dice, pot / monkey metal suits manufacturers and end users pick up the tab down the line.
Fair play though- I've never heard of a CBS era Stratocaster vibrato bridge failing, and I would welcome a double blind test between mine and the Callaham I replaced it with because I don't reckon I could tell the difference. I just would not choose a product made from value engineered base materials when I'm paying top tier prices.
Probably much ado about nothing- a brouhaha if you will, but hey! lose the ZAMAK whydontcha?
