Nice one Eddie. Better pictures today too for me. Still rather tiny (very difficult to hit with my fingertip) but showing better detail when elarged, and being tiny they don't seem to collapse the thread. That's an issue with my app though. I like how this one is coming along Sir.

Yes, for some reason the pictures came out better this time. That may be from me trying to hold my phone and the guitar and trying to snap the picture. On this set of pictures the guitar was laying on it's own. Hans free. LOL! You would think after all the pictures I have taken I would have learned how to take a good picture. But, I do the best I can. LOL!

Thanks Dane!
Did some stuff today...
pulled the clamp off. Everything looks really good. So, I made some rosewood dots to put in the factory screw holes. One is in and sanded. I left the other one to show how I did it.
Here is the bridge tool again. Showing the metal part I reshaped from the old jig. It worked out really well.
So, now it's onto the frets and fret board. Wow, is thing in a mess!
Later on today I will have the frets and fret board done. I needed a brake from re-crowning the frets. Almost all of them some had drug a file over them. I didn't know if I would have enough fret left to re-crown them. But they look good! Now I'll spend some time on making them look shinny and new. The fret board is so dry. It keeps soaking in the oil I am using on it. I have not seen one this dry in a long time. I wound up scraping the fret board to get all of the finger junk off. It is starting to look and feel like a guitar neck now. I use my re-crown file to get the sharp edges off of the fret ends. No need to have a file for that. LOL!
Once I get the frets and the board done. I'll deal with the insert for the neck mount later on. Then I'll do a good clean up on the guitar put strings on it, and see how she does. I may have a buyer for it once I get it done. One of the tenants here has a daughter that whats to learn guitar. They asked me if I had a guitar for sale... Hum... This cool! I knew I needed to buy this guitar and fix it.

Here is more stuff...
Here is the neck block. I had to make shims to get it to fit close. I used thin set CA glue on it. Going to let it dry on it's own. I have the guitar sitting up in my chair to help the CA to wick into the cracks. After it drys, I'll go in and do some final shaping.
The fret board came out pretty good. I have been feeding it with oil all day. It has now quit soaking it in. Look at earlier pictures to see the big difference.
Here is another look at part of the fret board after oiling and the re-crowning and polishing.
I didn't post any pictures of the crowning because you all have seen that a lot on here. I did this the way I did on other guitars. Nothing has changed. Not only that once I get back to the other build I'll be showing the process in the post. So, once the CA glue drys, I'll do dome final shaping to the shims. Then I will start the rest of the clean up. Then polishing. I hope to get most of the marks off the back side. I will also be using some finger nail polish to touch up some of the chipping.
Not to much more to get this guitar back up and playing like it should.
Dane, I think I caught it just in time. When I took a really close look at the neck and block area. It was just starting to buckle on the out side where the neck joins the body. So I hope the shims will keep it in check.
OK, that is it for today... EB

Yes Eddie I think that shim woll keep it all in place. Dane, I let that shim dry over night. I was surprised to see that the small buckle that was in it is now gone. The top looks supper good as well. I didn't think putting in the shim would have made any difference in it. I expected it to be pretty much the same that it was.
Well, anyway I thought it you would like to know that.
I did do some work on it today. I put the new bridge saddle in and drilled out the holes some more for the bridge pins. I also buffed it out using my drill with a buffer on it and some scratch X. Looks pretty good.
I could not get all of the scratches out on the back. They are just to deep. But it did clean up pretty good. I still need to fill in some of the chipping around the peg head. I'll do that another day.
It's been a while, but I had one of my shaking attacks last night. I have not felt so good today. So, I'll get back on it when I can. I know no rush. I still have some time before Christmas.

Almost done with the guitar. I'll get some pictures up soon. I need to lower the action a little bit more. I'll do that at the bridge saddle, by taking some off the bottom of the saddle. The neck on this guitar was way bowed (forward) I tweak it let sit for an our or two, tweak it some more. I got it to where I like it. Now to take off a little at the bridge. Should be good to go.
It sounds so much better than when I first got the guitar. Reattaching the bridge and making that shim I put under the neck block really made a huge improvement on the way this guitar sounds.
Like I said, I'll post some finished pictures in a little bit. Still not feeling to good today. It takes me up to 3 to 4 days to get over one of my attacks. I needed to get this done so I pushed myself to get it done. I want to get back on the build from scratch guitar, once the parts come in.
This was a fun project to do. Been a while since I did a bridge reset. The intonation Is spot on. I did replace the bridge saddle with a compensating saddle. That probable helped a lot. LOL!
Think I'll let sit now over night to see if anything changes. I'll take some off the saddle then.

OK here is the guitar!
Looking like or better than new!
Well, this was a fun project. I got the action as low as I could get it. Still not as low as I like it to be, but it's good enough for now. It's going to need a neck reset someday. Going to play for the next few days to see how it's going to hold up. Then I'll call the person that is interested in it.
So now it's back to my build. Lots and lots to do on that! LOL!
