That ukulele of Kendrah's sure looks sweet Eddie. I guess it's a soprano uke? As I said already- my big fingers struggle with the soprano size, but for Kendrah it must have been a dream come true. I never had a grandfather that possessed your skills. Although I have a bowl back antique mandolin as well, it's more decorative because it badly needs a neck reset and the soundboard looks like a Bondai Breaker rolling in! The intonation on it is appalling. It sure looks cute but ... My sister bought it for me on a whim one year on holiday in Wales. She tried to describe it to me over the 'phone. I tried to descibe what things to look out for but it was a waste of time. I also have a cheap Chinese banjo with a guitar type paddle headstock and tuners. It played and sounded fine, but I bought some more decent banjo tuners and wanted to re-profile the headstock to be more like a banjo. That darned ten year plan again! Someone bought it for me as a surprise for my 50th birthday and of course I just took it and promptly started playing it, and then he immediately tumbled that I probably already had one- about the same time that I realised he'd figured it out. And he was correct! Here it is. An Aria Mastertone knock off. As I said previously, the Sobell would be first out in a fire, but my banjo would be my desert island squeeze. I could even use it as a paddle if I could hack out a dug out canoe! I love a 'jo me! I had someone put a new transparent vellum on to replace the old one, and had him do a set up. Now it plays a like dream. These instruments are seriously loud! I think that just about wraps it up with guitars and strung instruments generally here at Chateaux Hippy. I hope it hasn't bored you guys. I have an American built example from Heritage, Guild, Gretsch, Gibson and Fender, but I'm missing an American built Epiphone. I'm no collector or completist so that's just the way it'll have to stay. I'd love an Epiphone Olympic but they go for silly money since Dave Rawlings started to play one, and I'm not about to purchase one of their recent re-issues. I'd also like a Guild S100 because it would satisfy that "SG" itch, but restraint is in control because an original S100 would command north of £1000 over here, and I've no desire for one of their Korean lookalikes made under license. What about amplifiers then? (around ten and nothing overly special) And effects? (totally lost count!) Electric piano? (Casio but really very good) Synthesiser? (Yep) Drum machine? Mixer? Monitors? Microphones? (two). I think I'll let it go at that for a guitar forum. Thanks for watching guys. e&oe ...

Some pretty cool instruments...
I am down to 17 guitars and 3 amps. I have one guitar up for sale at the moment. I would like to sell it, but it wont hurt my feelings if it does not sell.
My 3 amps are 2 tube amps and my Yamaha C10 desk top. Not planning on selling any of them.
Kendrah's Uke is a concert Uke. The one I made before hers is a soprano uke. I need to get some pictures of it. We also have a 6 string Uke that is made by Taylor. It does not tune like a 6 string guitar. But it is a lot of fun to play.
Kendrah has a banjo I bought her last summer. I did a set up to it and got it playing super good, and I have not seen it since... LOL!
I was looking to buy an electric drum kit, but my daughter really does not want me to get one because it takes up too much space.
I do have this really old mandolin that needs a lot of work done to it. I may get it out to see if I can fix it. It might be form the 40s or 50s. The top on it has sunk in. So I don't know if I can get it to pop back out or not. It would be cool to see if can fix it or not. Been using it for wall art. LOL!
Well, the more I think on it the more I think that the wife and I need to come out your way... LOL... I just needs to be playing on your instruments... HA! HA!
Then we will have to take a trip out and see Dane, then if I do that I need to go Nashville to see John... Wow! now that would be a great vacation! Make me tired to even think that way. LOL!

Wow I thought I had a lot of guitars but you have me beat by a mile. Plus you have some really cool old pieces. Really very nice collection Steve. I did just get an old Harmony hollow arch top that owner left me cause he didn't want to spend the value of the guitar to fix it. So it's mine now we'll see if I can repair it.
Eddie mentioned his guitar count so now I will attempt to remember all mine while sitting here typing this. I'm just going to list list them to keep this straight. The Skull, Gekco, Padduak, Paisley Strat, Mex Tele, First Tele, Bread board Tele, Copper Top, Bigsby Retro, Epi SG, and two junkers that were left here. Acoustics, Aria, Washburn, Fender and a Samick that was given to me cause it had a cracked neck. And one very cheap 5 string Banjo. Sorry I just did this to you guys with no pictures.

The Harmony piques my interest Dane, lucky you! What a catch?
And after all you've done on here and YouTube, you have no need to apologise to anyone for not posting piccies. We've seen lots of them in far greater detail already.

I need to check that video, which I recorded with the new camera, to make sure it looks clear. I'm thinking about filming the back removal with a head mounted gopro.

I watch some of those hot rod shows on TV and I saw one the other night where a guy was removing an engine out of an old car and was filming the whole thing with a GoPro mounted to his head. He said he used it to help ensure the wire runs and connections went back to original after reinstalling the engine. I’m going to look for one...need to do some research. John

GoPro was the first company to envisage deploying digital capture devices in that way. It has to be admitted that some of the resultant footage is simply jaw dropping! It's got to the stage where folks talk about GoPros in the same way as they do for "hoovers" when they mean vacuum cleaners. Indeed, the proper noun "Hoover" has become the verb "hoover"!
There are masses of competing products nowadays but I suspect that the majority do not really compare that well with GoPros because immitators are seldom instigators. That said, there is the usual element of paying for the name because at least some of the bandwagon leapers must be pretty good. At the end of the day, the GoPro is a digital capture device and if you can come up with a suitable way to "wear" your digital (video) camera, you might well save a substantial sum that could easily be put to better use in the workshop? I'm thinking of the quality end of the dash cam market here?
$0.02 etc.

John, the GoPro Hero8 has a non removable lens. All the earlier ones have removable lenses. If the lens gets scratched your kind of done so I opted for an earlier model. There are a lot of slightly different kits available on Amazon that include camera and a variety of bases or mounts. I found a Hero7 black at WalMart for under around 290 but it was 320 when I was there the other day. I also bought a light cube and Rodes mic on line.
Steve, I wasn't really aware of any different branded action cameras so all my research was on GoPro. But I have found a wealth of info on YT about the different models and there use. I think it's going to work out well.

That seems good value compared to some of the prices I've seen but then again this is little Britain I'm talking about!
It still seems a lot when altruism attracts disagreeable trolls? We can at least starve them of their desired reaction by ignoring them?

Are you referring to the YT vids? Yeah I almost blasted Billy but let it slide for the most part. It's kind of stupid for someone to tell how screwed up the videos are when they have no content and no subs at all. It's great that the folks who like my vids say so. Of course not all are so eloquent as you.

Spot on Dane. An isolated example is just that, but repetition constitutes a troll. I am offended by sneaky little keyboard warriors like that. Very brave indeed from behind a console. It wouldn't be so bad if the contributions were constructive but they're without exception negative. A cross section of life etc. Reminds me of the "bucket mouths" back in the days of CB- very brave behind a microphone.
