Hey all, I remember that someone had gotten one of these amps. Can you tell me are you still using it? I was over at a friends house the other night, he has one. and I was impressed with. I am thinking of getting one. I like it for one that it sounds great and is not heavy to hall around. Looks like the recording software is easy to use. Anyone with some experience with this amp? I might get me one for Christmas. Let me know. Thanks!

No experience with that amp EB, but I'm a Yamaha believer with amps and guitars and I can say that I have read lots of glowing reviews for the THR series and not a single bad one. Merry Christmas then!

yeah, I have read a lot of reviews and seen a lot of videos on this amp. Like I said I was really impressed with the one my friend has. I just can't get how well it sounds out of my head. Looks like what I have been looking for in an amp that I can take with me almost everywhere. I am also looking into the iPhone hook up for guitar. They sound pretty good as well. It too can be hooked up to a PA or guitar amp or headphones. But I really like the Yamaha amp. Wonder if they are ever going to make one into a big boy amp? LOL! EB

Take a look at the "DG" series amps. (now probably discontinued knowing Yamaha.) although to be fair, you don't want an amp that big? I have the "DG-Stomp" which is all of the clever modelling bit of that amp housed in a bomb proof giant floor pedal. I assume that the amp would be hours of fun too!

Have been looking for a super lite and small amp for a long time, that sounds good. I think I found it in this kind of amp. Just seems a little pricey to me. But it is what it is. I don't like modeling amps as a rule. But this one is easy to use. Not too many presets in it. More than likely I'll set it up for two things and that will be it. LOL! It may have to wait until after Christmas. We have have a lot going on this month. EB

Well, I just ordered the THR 10c. Should have it in a few days. After a little fishing I found a music store that sold me a brand new one with the case for less than most sell them for. So that was cool. I'll try and post a video of it, once I get it where I want it. LOL! EB

I've never Not liked a Yamaha product, also. Just to add to this. I played through a newish Fender Mustang modeling amp. Not bad. Would consider owning one despite hating on Line 6 products.
Around the house I play through a solid state Univox Bass amp.

Around the house I play through a solid state Univox Bass amp. I had the Mustang V It was OK. But like most amps like this, I end up with only using 2 to 3 channels. The mustang for me was a let down. To me it just didn't have a great sound. Plus the software for recording did not work well. It was always freezing up, or would not work at all. I even talked the people at Fender, but could never get the recording software to work right. I could not afford their pay version. I did not want to pay for and still have the same issues as well. It's not cheap! So anyway a friend of mine has the THR 10c. I was realy impressed with it. It has a great sound to it. I was looking for something that I can use around the house and not brake my back. LOL! Plus I can put battery's in it and use it in other small places. Once I get it, I may see how hard it will be to hook up to a PA. If it will, I may end up using it at church. But I mainly got for home use. I can get a great sound, without blasting it. I may end up selling off my big amps. I am looking to be quitting playing out at all. EB

"I've never Not liked a Yamaha product..."
You need to try a Yamaha AA5 "amplifier" then Hoz. I have three but only because I wanted to try daisy-chaining in a wasted effort to get some use out of it / them. I should have stopped with the first one. In fairness, they were intended for the Yamaha "Silent Guitar", but comparing them with (eg) a Roland Micro Cube is like chalk and cheese. One of the all-time lemons. And me a Yamaha fan boy too!

HA! HA! I really like it. It has that big amp sound but not at the volumes as a big amp. It is in stereo 5 watt per side. But WOW, it comes out of that little amp and surrounds you. If you ever get a chance to play through one or here someone play through one, I bet you would want one. LOL! I can't wait to get the recording software loaded to see how that works out. I have to download a driver for it as well, so I can go on line and do some mods if i want to. I really like it just the way it is. EB

Well, the last few days I have been trying to understand the recording software for this amp. I went on line only to find a 4 hour video of how to do the basics. WOW! Too much info! That software is just to hard to learn for me. So I went to my old favorite Free download of Audacity. Got it working right off the bat. So I'll be, doing some recording. I'll post some it when I can! EB

Eddie, have you tried "Reaper"? I know only too well about trying to get one's old brain around software. I tried ProTools. Yikes! Audacity is great but does have a few limitations. On the other hand, "Reaper" is free to use for individuals (with no pesky adverts) and you can contribute by buying a license if you feel guilty. I did and did! The license is a giveaway price anyway compared to the other well known DAW software offerings. I only mention this because if you are up for learning a DAW, I'd put the effort in with Reaper. And if you buy a license you get a nice birthday email too! (I have no interest in or connection with any software writers or retailers.)
