This summer ill be building a Les Paul style saga with my friend i was just wondering if there is anything important you need to know about the saga guitar kits. I have researched them quite thoroughly but have only found research on the tele and strat style sagas kits. thanks Alex Mackenzie

Alex -- Thanks for the note. The majority of the kits we have had experience with are the S- and T-styles. You can check the Builder's Gallery and the Saga Sagas, both linked from our home page, for more information.
One thing we do know -- before you put a finish on it, put it together first and make sure everything fits!
Good luck, John

We have a couple of new Sagas to post. They should be up this weekend.
We are still seeing the same general issues with the kits. The only thing we can say is to put it together and string 'er up before you start on the finish!

I bought one of there PRS style kits a long, long time ago. The fretwork, blew me away! It was really nice fretwork on it. Leveled frets, straight neck, consistent bevel on the edges, comfy neck. The body pretty much sucked (i.e. the flame veneer), but everything fit well together. That's the first time I painted/buffed that thing, as you can see I then didn't have the best grasp on finishing sanding yet (you can see a bunch of orange peel in the contours and such) but it came out really nice. Since then I stripped the thick poly sealer on the body, stripped the veneer and did a few body mods to it. Right now it's painted basecoat white, ready for some black color and clear.
