Personally I like pretty much everything. Bluegrass to Thrash, the blues is my absolute favorite though. Classic guys like Lightnin' and Sonny Terry, Buddy Guy (my FAV!) ,Elmore James, you know guy's that COOK STEW. All the same I kick on Foghat (LIVE! kicks @$$), Aerosmith, Frank Marino (WHOO!). Tony Rice, Ricky Skaggs, Osbourne Bro's, (TOTAL COOL). How about Reeves, Jerry Reed or Jim Ed Brown (Pop a Top, best country song EVER). Tom Petty, Dylan, John Denver (Thoughtful, introspective, and FUN!). Skynyrd, ZZtop, Molly Hatchet (I'm Suddern (southern)So that's a given). Al Dimeola, Larry Carlton, Paco de Lucia (play THAT stuff). Ozzy, Motorhead, Iron Maiden (UP THE IRONS!). Testament, Metallica, EXODUS ( WAR IS MY SHEPHERD!). I had a quote in high school that the teacher that fixed my amp loved. It's " there are two kinds of people, those that listen to music for enjoyment, and those that enjoy listening to music". I really did quote that (my ONE shining moment!). I guess I'm the latter.

I'm going to cheat a bit. This is from a thread on page three called "what are you listening to" I may update this a little later when I have time. Not sure about the quote I think they say the same thing so I guess I'm both. Because even after several music treatment centers I still enjoy listening to music for enjoyment. I've been a fan of the Eagles since the beginning. I got the Hell freezes over cd about 10 yrs after it was released and then the Long road out of Egypt. Those guys are still amazing and tight and Henley has got to be one of the best lyricists ever. Just good solid stuff. But another guy, Derek Web writes really good thought provoking lyrics, and has been for years. First with the band Caedmon's Call and than as a solo. I mostly listen to christian rock for my own self preservation. There are some good edgy groups. One of my favs was Steve Taylor (80s-90s) kind of new wave punk thing going on but again very good lyrics. But when you just gotta rock it's the 70s for me. Journey, Boston, REO, Nugent, Framton, maybe the 60s Humble Pie? dane

Frampton AND humble pie? thats redundant Steve Marriott and Frampton were humble pie. My tastes run from John Prine to Lincoln Park and all points in between. If its got tasty guitar bits, I like it although I do have some big band on my ipod (Spike Jones and his city slicker orchestra!). my collection is a little thin when it comes to modern jazz (think MJQ, Sun Ra) or Rap although I do enjoy some eminem - his early stuff

Frampton and Humble pie are redundant. Are you suggesting that I maybe didn't know that Frampton was in Humble pie or are you not aware that Frampton had a rather large solo career? Or are you possibly suggesting that Humble pie and Frampton sound like the same band? d

My quote is slightly different plus its worded SOOO good for a stoned 17 year old- HA! . As far as rap goes there are some local boys who do what I call "cornbread" rap, one plays simple slide, one taps a box, and the "mc" just raps about everyday life. They have one tune about their gramma cooking them collard's and beans, it ain't no B!^%h's and Ho's, look at my money junk. It's pretty good, I haven't seen 'em in a while though, hope they didn't split up (they just played on the sidewalk in our little area called "blackbottom" Sad and Wrong). Now super commercialized rock and rap I abbreviate as C.rock and C.rap. Still listen though, to here what NOT to do!!

We got the same problem over here with the ''gangsters'', It's just a normal sub-urban neighboorhood and almost the most socialistic west European country here but they all think they live in gheto's and stuff I really hate that. MAKE SOME NORMAL MUSIC

Ya'll got it! If all rap albums had what these young men rapped about, my music library would be filled with it! I thought it was really heartfelt when I heard it, it spoke to me, about like the blues does. Besides, beans, collards, and cornbread are the REAL "Manna" people just don't know it!

Oh heck I'll link it again, hey it's my kid. www.myspace.com/wastingjune enjoy d That was pretty good. nice recording quality too... You can tell him that I liked it a lot. The vocals were also pretty good, It's always a hard thing for bands I heard. Got the same problem with our upcoming band too, we got 3 guitar players together and 1 was going to play bass but Of course when you finally decided who was going to play the bass we found a real bassplayer. So we decided someone had to drop the guitar and needed to do the vocals. I'm really curious what it is going to sound like Niels
