Yes I had noticed the shape, but wanted to verify before I commented. Nice!

OK a little more progress. I really have not had much time for this build. I drilled the holes for the bridge posts and reamed or really re-drilled the string thru holes on both sides and installed the ferrules as well as the string ground wire in the bridge post hole. This is tricky to do after the lacquer is on but green or blue masking tape keeps the lacquer from chipping but it is still kind of hairy. Glued the neck in too. So some pics of things. One coat of oil on the neck to keep the glue out of the grain pores and none at the actual glue joint. Also sanded just before glue up to get nice fresh wood. Both neck and pocket. The controversial scarf joint and my pearl Jonah J at the 12th fret. Lots of clamp pics from different angles. No matter how you do this, it's tough to wipe off the squeeze out. If you look close you can see the bridge bushing, and ground wire wound up in the control cavity. The clamp caul in the pick up cavity is my rubber faced sanding block. d

Great work! The grain and color of that neck looks so delicious! What style of music do you play?

Great work! The grain and color of that neck looks so delicious! What style of music do you play? About the work, thanks. I'm not telling the mistakes I made just today on this thing. About the wood, I agree it's very nice stuff, And believe it or not I had this neck glued up before I saw all your cool glue ups. So, great minds. About my music. I'm very into 70's rock, southern fried, country rock, blues rock. I play in a Christian rock band, which basically means the guys in the band are Christians. and so we play as much of the above mentioned styles as we can and even some covers if the words are not Satanic. Ha. Ironically enough we cover the Cream version of Crossroads, Some small rewrite on the lyric. We also cover two Eagles songs, both acoustic. Dobbie Bros, Jesus is just alright, no rewrite, the words are great. We plan on doing Bob Marleys, Jammin. But not if we make it sound white. And we do a few originals. d

Thats cool. I love multi lam necks!!
Great, a christian band! That is awesome. I am a christian myself. I have never been good enough for a band though, or had nice enough equipment.
haha, Bob Marley.

Well Eddie, I hope they just keep getting cooler and cooler. So start saving your penny's. Killem' The fact that I play in three bands only proves you don't have to be that good. I got pretty solid rhythm but I'm just mediocre as a lead player. And it doesn't help that both of the other lead guitarists are like lighting. Just makes it more obvious when I take a lead. But I love playing out and rehearsals. This week I have 4 nights of rehearsals. Big fun. d

Well it seems to be harder and harder to find time for my hobby this time of year. I leveled frets a few nights back and tonight was able to crown and polish them up. Did some more on the rub out. After recessing the bridge and repainting that portion I had a line in the finish were I had a strip of tape to keep from painting the ferules. Had to sand and and rub out some more. Reinstalled the bridge bushings and put the tuners in. Also put three coats of oilwax on the back of the peg head and neck. #1 Pic after the buff out. Pic#2 is in the process somewhere. I think it was at the 400 grit. The bridge recess and bushings. The bridge in a blur. The face of the peg head is lacquered to cover logo. I've been thinking about making a jig to hold a file at 30 degrees for edging the frets. So before I leveled the other night I cut a slot in an oak block I use to sharpen cabinet scrapers. It's a snug fit but the screws make sure the file stays put. And yes I prefer 30 degrees over 45, more playing area on the fret. d

Hello chillens' well I finished the red one and I'm very happy with it. I used medium frets and the neck is very flat with about 2/32" string height at the 12th. We played a festival on Sunday and this things is a real player. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this one. I don't know if I laid out the specs. on this one in earlier posts so here goes. Planetwaves 18:1 locking auto trim tuners Medium fret wire, 22 frets, 25" scale Unbleached bone nut Standard old school truss rod with spoke nut at heel Bloodwood fretboard with white pearl dots and inlay GFS Vintage Extra Hot pickups Alpha 500K pots with .47 cap 5 position Mega switch wired like a PRS WBW pick guard in the CKNowles design Gotoh Nashville TOM bridge Schaller strap locks Strat style jack housing Body wood is Poplar Neck wood is African mahogany, Narra and bloodwood I liked the grass motif that killemall uses so much I decided to go with it. Maybe it will sell a guitar for me. I bought a new video camcorder because we have a grandson on the way. And I plan to get some video of me playing this guitar. Wouldn't you know it, I cut a good chunk of meat off the end of my left ring finger with my Skill saw today. Kind of ironic cutting myself with a saw called Skill. Anyway the vid will have to wait. So glad I didn't cut myself before the festival I would have tried to play anyway and bleed all over my guitars. I have before and it's pretty gory on a maple board. d

Just thought it might be cool to have a side by side of the last two guitars. Same body shape and all. d

So Cool! So The sinking the bridge wasn't so bad after all...
I like to sink that type of bridge For me I think it has a better look. I also like to sink the Knobs for the volume and tone But with a pick guard you can't do that.
Wish I had the money I would buy one of them. They are cool!
I see you made some changes on the pick guard and the head stock. I like them both!

eddie, If I had planned to sink the bridge it would have been no big deal but after the finish has been buffed out it's a real bummer and it presented plenty of problems at that stage. Thank you for the kind words. d
