Happy New Year!
I have a question about Ibanez and locking trems. I am looking to buy my first Ibanez (probably the JS or S series) but was wondering if anyone had good or bad experiences with the locking trems Ibanez is now using. On the models I am looking at they look like they are the Zero Point or Edge III locking trems.
Also, any opinions on the JS or Wizard necks?
I have been a strat player for almost 20 years so I am very used to standard bridges and 9.5 radius necks!!
Any thoughts you all have would be greatly appreciated!
Steve

Hey Steve, I think Ibanez makes a very nice guitar. How ever in my own experience the necks are to thin for me to play comfortably. I'm not into trem bridges but from what I've read the Zero Point is the better of the two you mentioned. If you've been a Strat guy for 20 years are you now dissatisfied with your Strat or are you looking for a back up guitar or just more sound variation? Something like the Music man with humbuckers and Floyd Rose trem. The neck would feel much more familiar to you. dane

Steve Steve -- The Ibanez trems are excellent. All of the ones I have seen are particularly well done. They have taken the Floyd Rose design to a new level. The Ibanez necks you refer to are pretty thin compared to the average Strat. As I recall the JS necks are a little beefier than the Wizards. Also, the fingerboards will feel very flat compared to that Strat, but I think that is a good thing. Getting a new neck always takes some getting used to, but their fretwork and quality are always good. My opinion only, John
