I have a Squier Fat strat that I purchased about 8 months ago. When I play somewhat aggressively with the toggle switch set to the humbucker with the clean channel on my amp (Fender 15 watt), there is a weird crackling fuzzy sound. At first I thought my strings were just worn out since they are kind of old (3-4 months), but it doesn't happen with the toggle switch set to either of the single coil pickups. Does anyone know why this happens?

There are a couple of possibilities:
1. First, you may have problem with you amp which appears with the higher output of the humbucker. To check this, take your guitar to a music store, plug into another amp, and see if the guitar still creates the noise. Also confirm that your cord is good.
2. If it is not the amp, there may be a bad pot or solder joint in your guitar. I've seen a lot of cold solder joints in Squiers, and you may need some maintenance.
Let us know what happens, Good luck, John
