Bought a T-style body from a guy and the neck plate holes have been drilled crooked. If I install the neck plate using these holes it will look bad and not square with the rest of the body. Is there any way to repair this or should I send it back ?
Thanks in advance as always,
John

John -- It is possible to plug and redrill the holes, but if you can send it back, you probably should. If you can't send it back, there are a couple of questions:
(1) What finish are you putting on the guitar? Is it clear or solid. If it is a clear or semi-clear finish, it will be difficult to cover up a repair.
(2) What kind of wood is the guitar made from? Some woods seem to take repairs better than others.
Let us know what you do, Good luck, John

John, Thanks for the quick reply.
In answer to your first question,- finish will not be an issue because the repair will be covered by the guitar's neck plate.
Second question,- the body is made of swamp ash.
I was pondering maybe I could use a brad point bit on a drill press to drill the existing holes through and then glue in some wooden dowel and then drill more accurate holes.
What do you think ?
