Is there any real advantage to converting a Saga T kit into a through-string? I usually play blues/classic rock and was wondering if it will affect the tone or anything like that.

Tone, like so many things we love to talk about, is many times open to interpretation. I've converted a number of Saga T-Styles to string through, and some sound better, while a number sound about the same. Luckily, none have sounded worse!
I personally believe a Tele should be a string-through, but that is my opinion based on aesthetic reasons! As far as a tone advantage, it is a roll of the dice. It probably won't sound worse, but installing ferrules on the back of the guitar is risky business!
Good luck, John
