Of course I only saw it wet in the video but does the wood hardener lighten up after it dries?

An easy way to check the bridge ground (earth, Steve) is to meter between the bridge and a pot for continuity.
I'm with you either way Dane. My angle is that in a guitar it is neither- it's the signal return. That said "Ground" or "Earth" makes little difference because it helps us to envisage the circuit topography.
Of course current flow is strictly speaking from negative towards positve potential, but that's yet another can of worms!

Good question, I think you were talking about ground loops and noise in one of the videos. But it could have been a completely different thread.
