Went out to the shop today. Did some clean-up today. Like guitars, it is funny how things can go out of wack just from sitting around. One of my sanders had gone out of adjustment as well as the band saw. Hum...
Still doing a lot of thinking on what I will do with my shop. At the moment, once it cools off some, I will get back on my 2 builds that need to get done. I don't know if I'll do anything with the neck blank I made with the chevron strips in it. I'll have to see how things go.
As far as Eagle Blues Kustom guitars go, it is no more as far as the name goes. Those that that fallow me on YT will see the changes to the name. I will keep the YT channels going for now. But I know there will be a time that I will take them down. When that will happen, only time will tell.
I guess at this time, I will have to put up with a person that still to this date is posting bad things about me. The thing this person done not get is there is no Business. I do not work on guitars for the public. So all of these persons posts in trying to discredit me is futile. I don't know where linked in got the idea that I have a business, but they are wrong, too. Same as on Yelp. They, too, have it wrong! As well as a few others. I tried to reason with them all, but it will take a lawyer to try to get this to stop. So, I guess I will have to put up with it!
Next year we will be moving out of AL. My shop will be going to my son. He wants me to teach him how to make guitars. So, that is going to happen in the next year or two.

I did wonder why all my EB liked videos had disappeared Eddie, but I soon guessed you'd done it because you'd already intimated as such. Naturally I noticed that the username had changed just as it has done once or twice before, but I never lost all the liked videos in the past. Oh well, I fully understand your point of view and I'd do the same. We are supposed to have the right to free speech here too, but no one has the right to carry out trolling or threats- any such behaviour can be reported to the police, and there are laws here concerning that sort of thing that (given proof) has to be followed up. I have evidence of a young-ish female that began to hound me and spouted racist comments and anti American comments too because she thought I was American! I ignored all her provocation and it seemed to come to an end. She goaded me to ban her from the forum, but I didn't rise to that either. Before she disappeared, I carried out I.P. searches and I saved web pages containing her activities as the proof needed if going to the police. I reckon I should have done that because she will probably go on to pester others, but I have no wish to be the catalyst that gets her a criminal record- my guess is she's more than capable of doing that for herself. If she's a she that is- they think that they're invincible hidden behind a console. You can be whoever or whatever you want from that vantage point.

If she's a she that is- they think that they're invincible hidden behind a console. You can be whoever or whatever you want from that vantage point. でつ e&oe ...I did delete a lot of videos. Most of the ones I took down were only less than 75 hits in over years time. And some did not have any comments, and a lot of them had no likes. I didn't see much use in keeping them around.
We are supposed to have laws here too against people like what I have been talking about. But, the police that I have talked to say there is nothing they can do unless there I have been threatened. When I ask about what is a threat? I am told a threat is intent to do bodily harm. So, unless some comes to me a harms me, there is noting they will do about it. I told the last policeman I talked with that is someone came to my house and threatened me or family, I would not need a cop to help me. It would be all over long before they got there. But, like I said, to do anything about online BS, you have to get a lawyer.
I can see if it's a one or two time thing. But this has been going on now for the last 9 to 10 months. Enough is enough. There should be a way of stopping people like I have been dealing with. But you know there is no one that really cares. And that is why cyberbullies get away with their crap.
The person I have been dealing with hides behind a VPN and made up names. He says there is no way, no one can ever catch him. Wrong! I talked with a close friend of mine that was in the CIA. He told me they can track down anyone any time. That No VPN is totally hack proof. But I find it funny how this person admits to doing things like this. Like I said, this person will get theirs someday.
Sorry that I had to take down some of my videos. But there are more coming. I have not been feeling so well of late (again) I think it's because of the heat here. The heart meds they have me on help with the heart, but has increased my risk of over heating. Not fun, but they tell me it's nothing to worry about. I like to see some of these doctors go through what I have been through, then let me hear them say there is nothing to worry about. LOL!
Well, if there is anything I have learned in life is "Change" it is always going to happen. Like it or not. My whole life is about "Change". Just about the time I think we are going to settle down and put our roots down, something always changes, and we have to make a huge change in our lives. I guess the only time it will truly stop is when life stops. But then for me, I know we have the biggest change of all.

Eddie I think it's great that your son want's to learn how to build guitars. I know it's not easy to loose your independence and live in someone else's house. But to have your legacy of guitar building handed down to your son is a great thing. I'm sure there are many other legacy's you've handed down to your children and others as well. I've mentored two boys on guitar building but they were only interested in getting a guitar. Which is fine but it didn't turn into a life long addiction. Ha!

But to have your legacy of guitar building handed down to your son is a great thing. I'm sure there are many other legacy's you've handed down to your children and others as well. I've mentored two boys on guitar building but they were only interested in getting a guitar. Which is fine but it didn't turn into a life long addiction. Ha! My son has the car bug as well. I pretty much raised him building cars. He and I would take naps together under a car. LOL!
We almost lost him when he got blown up in Baghdad. He now has 22 pieces of shrapnel in him. He had some hard times but is now doing better that ever. For a long time he was not himself. But now his life has turned around and is doing great!
He was the one that asked me if I could teach him about guitar making. I told him I would. Don't know what he will do with the knowledge of making guitars. But it would tie him and I even closer together. And that you can't put a price on.
Our daughter is a lot like me in that she can see things and figure out how to fix it. As well as my son has that too. Our daughter and son are super artistic. They both like to create things. They both like to draw. My daughter will not back down from a fight. Wonder where she got that from? LOL!
Fun fact on her is that when she was dating, she knew more about cars than all the boys at that time. HA! Yep, she was raised knowing all about cars and how to work on them, too. That was one thing I did with her. I told her if she was going to drive, she needed to know about what makes a car tick.
Before she was allowed to drive a car down the street, she knew how to change a tire, change the oil, and even how to adjust a carb. Puss a lot of other things. Not too many guys could to do that even today. LOL!
There are a few people, I have shown them not only how to do a set-up on guitar but have shown them how to put guitars together. One guy has now put himself together a few guitar guitars from parts. He told me the other day it's all because of what I showed him to do and what to look for, that has aided him in being able to do so.
But now that you made me stop and look back on some things. I have mentored a lot of people over the years in so many things. I hope they are all doing well today with what I had taught them.
You know, it's funny how once you get to an older age, you start to wonder if your life really meant anything to anyone. I have been thinking a lot about it. More now than all the other times of near-death experiences I have put together. It is odd to me of how many people die every moment of every day that not one person will ever remember. So many people out there that are heroes to someone.
I have a few heroes in my life, but once I am gone, so will the memories of them be gone. I have only a few people that I ever looked up too.
So now I sit here wondering what is next in my life, moving in with our son seems like what we should do. It would help us out to do some traveling around, to see some people that we have been wanting to see. Plus to visit this great country once again. I miss that part of living in an RV. We got to see so much of the USA! We lived in an RV for 2 1/2 years.
NO, the wife does not want to do the RV thing again. LOL!

My grandson, that I built the guitar for, whom we just spent a week with. He just turned 14 and he tells me he has a year off between when he graduates and trade school. So he wants to come stay with us and build a guitar with me. I asked him if he wanted to build an electric or acoustic. He thinks electric because it will be easier than acoustic. He'a not wrong. I think having him around while we build a guitar is about as cool as could get.
My wife and I have been batting around the idea of getting an RV of some sort. Either truck and trailer or motor home. Anybody have any thoughts on which is better?

I think having him around while we build a guitar is about as cool as could get. My wife and I have been batting around the idea of getting an RV of some sort. Either truck and trailer or motor home. Anybody have any thoughts on which is better? Dane, RV life can be fun. But it does take a lot of maintenance. We lived in a 32-foot 5th wheel for 2 1/2 years. We pulled it with a Dodge 3/4 tone truck that I customed ordered. Best truck I ever owned!
We went to the truck and trailer because it was nice to have the truck to drive around once the RV was in its place. With a motor home, you will find yourself wanting a car to drive around. So that means you will need to tow a car behind the motor home. That really makes the gas mileage go way down.
My rig got like 17 to 18 miles to the gallon of diesel while towing the 5th wheel. My 5th wheel came in around 18,000 pounds. I did not tow it with water in the tanks. A lot of people do, and they have their reasons. But water is super heavy and needless if you are going to camp in RV parks that have water.
But be ready. Since COVID. The cost of RV parks have really gone out the door! When the wife and I were doing the RV thing, a lot of parks were $35.00 a night. Our son does a lot of camping with his family. I just talked to him, and he was telling me that most of the RV parks are now charging like $125.00 a night. $75 to 95 for a tent. And that is without water and electric. So you may want to mindful of that. He was telling me it is cheaper for them to rent a Hotel room. They got charged for not only the 2 dog but for each kid to camp out in their tent trailer. Wound up costing over a $100 a night.
RVing can be a lot of fun. So much to think about when doing the RV thing. The other thing I like about the trailer was that if the truck went down and needed to go to the shop, at least we had somewhere to stay.
But we were living in ours. We also belonged to KOA. So you do some kind of discount. Not much but some. I have a lot of cool stories about living in an RV.
I also recommend taking an RV class. The one I took really helped out in understanding how an RV works. They also tough me how to do a lot of repairs. Like how to fix the fridge and heater. Good things to know. What to do if a slide out won't work. Our had 2-slide outs.
Now, if you are going to for camping stile of an RV. Then you may not want to go as big as we did. It really depends on what you are wanting to do. Long term in an RV bigger is better for so many reasons.
I was looking at an RV bus last year. But when I was told it only got 6 miles to the gallon. I decided not for me. LOL! It was a super nice RV bus 3-slide outs, A generator that could run a house. I was trying to talk the wife in to it so that I could have some drive it to a RV long term park and live it. But since we did live in an RV once, the wife was not having it again.

Thanks Eddie, I always tell my wife I don't have the Okie jean. I don't like pulling trailers. She grew up in a family that did. I do see the wisdom in having a vehicle that can be used after parking the rv.

I have never been an RV guy. I’m not sure I could get my wife in one!
While I did a lot of camping in Boy Scouts, the only RV experiences have been when I was a little kid living in Alaska and, more recently, Bonnaroo.
I have a lot of friends and relatives with RVs and I guess I feel like I may be missing out. I always thought an Airstream being pulled by an Oldsmobile station wagon would be cool. Most of what I see around here is a huge trailer bing pulled by a huge pickup with a gooseneck.
I get bored very quickly…would probably have to take some guitars and a recording rig in the trailer to keep occupied! Lol
John.

So I thought a motor home might be a good way to go but then there's no car unless you yow one. Right? And I don't like towing.

Dane, like I said, you have to decide in what you want and what you are wanting an RV for. The cost of a motor home is not all that cheap. Gas mileage being the worst of the cost. Some motor homes only get like 6 miles to the gal. Or less. Then there is the size of a motor home, one hast to think about. How long will you stay in one will also come into play. Remember that any RV will close in on you in a short time.
John, I did have some guitars and an amp with me in my RV. I played my acoustic guitar a lot then. But once in a while I did play my electric guitars. I was even working on guitars at that time. It was cool to be around other campers that had guitars. A lot of them needed some work. So, I would work on them. LOL!
RVing is not for everyone. It can be fun and is for the most part. But like so many things, it's not a cheap thing to do. Like I also said, my son has found out it's cheaper to stay in a hotel or motel than camping. There is a lot of work involved with an RV. A lot of things that hardly anyone will talk about. That is way we no longer do an RV or own a boat. LOL!

Two main reasons Johnnie wants an RV. The last few years during fire season we've had fires very close. So a RV would give us a place to put all the precious memories. And all my guitars. So if we had to evacuate quickly we could just jump in and go. The other thing is hotels and motels have cooties.

So if we had to evacuate quickly we could just jump in and go. The other thing is hotels and motels have cooties. LOL cooties! If you buy used, then you will need to change the beds. You don't want "cooties" HA! Sound like you will need a huge RV just for the guitars alone. HA!
Our son just bought a van conversion. Super nice! Ever look at those? They are somewhat like a Mini RV. The one he bought has an electric seat in the back that folds down into a flat bed.
My son now wants to sell his tent trailer and his big van. His big van is one them like they use on American pickers. It, too, has a whole lot of room in it. They used it for traveling and camping.
So many ways to go when thinking of an RV. Like I said, you will need to decide what you want to use it for. Kind of like buying a computer. One needs to know what they will be using it for. No need to get something that you don't need or use.
Boy did this thread ever go off track!

It is a little off track, but it is something those who want to tour as a band or artist has to consider!
Professionals study logistics and getting from place to place and having a safe space to sleep is a pretty big priority for a family or a band!

It is a little off track, but it is something those who want to tour as a band or artist has to consider! Professionals study logistics and getting from place to place and having a safe space to sleep is a pretty big priority for a family or a band! John I toured on an old Gray hound bus for 3 years. Lived in an RV for 2 1/2 years. I got the RV to go into ministry. I preached and played music all over. From CA to AZ to FL and a lot of places between.
The bus was fun until it broke down. Then we had to sometimes find a place to stay, at times up to a week, while the bus was being worked on. We would have to at times reschedule our gigs. Not an easy thing to do.
I had a hot water heater go spring a leak in the 5th wheel once. They wanted me to bring it to a shop to have fixed. They told me it would be 3 weeks before they could get to it. I fixed myself. Took all of 3 hours. LOL!
I agree with being safe. But if something goes wrong with the rig, it always seems to go down in a bad place. At least that was my experience.
There is a lot more to buying an RV of any kind. Want me tell about a wheel bearing going out in the middle of the desert? Or having a tire blow out on the bus? How about the time of us being caught in a windstorm going across the desert? These are times that I did not feel safe. Just try and find someone that can help. There are times we would be on the roadside waiting for hours for someone to come help.
This only some of the things that can happen. Don't get me started on shady people at camp sights!
It may all sound like fun and game, but it's not. Like anything, it's expensive. And can get real frustrating being out on the road and putting up with other drivers that for what ever reason think they can cut in front of you, and then they put on their brakes like you are able to stop or slow down. Until you have locked up trailer brakes, you have not lived! LOL!
But will meet some interesting and cool people along the way.
