This is an experiment in video making. Tried out a thing or two. No voice in this at all. EB

That was OK by me because the musak wasn't fighting with your commentary Eddie. As you say, it's a learning curve and I'm still on the starting blocks!

You know, it doesn't seem to matter what I do. Someone has an issue with the way I make a video, or even how I apply a finish on a guitar. Or if I don't do something the way everyone else does! First off, I am not like everyone else. Never have been, never will be.
Once the P90 build is done, I think I am done. I make them for myself. I don't make videos to make money from them. I make them to show how I make guitars.
When I don't use music in the background, I am told my videos are boring. Then, when I add sound to them, I'm told the music is distracting.
Not long ago, I had someone tell me my intros were too long. So I shortened them up. Then, I was told my videos are too long. So now I try to keep them around 15 min or shorter. Then I'm told that I need to work on cam angles and I should be using a mic. The list goes on and on.
I get a lot more negative things said to me on a daily basis than I do positive.
If so many are so good at everything, then how come they don't do more videos or even make them? Same for guitars. If so many are so good at, then why are they not rolling in the money? I mean, if they are that good, then they should be making all kinds of money. Right?
So here is what I am going to do. I am going back to the boring way I made videos. No intros, no music. I'll do a sound video of the P90 guitar, and maybe I'll do one on the Glitter guitar. But that will be the end of all for me.
After the sound videos, I'm done. I am going through too much with my health, to keep on going on. I'll leave the YT channel up for a short while, but I'll put it into the “Privet” mode. And I'll turn off the comments. And then I'll start to delete all the videos I have up. Once they are deleted, then I close all my YT accounts.
I had some bad health issues in the last 3 weeks. But no one seems to care about that.
Well, anyway, I'm done! I give up! Going to live in quiet and not care about any of it. I have done the best I can do in life. That is all anyone can do.
It's time to move on and do things that make me happy for a change.
Guitar making has become a thing I don't like to do anymore. I find it frustrating to no end. Making videos are there as well. They have become more frustrating than fun.

What it is ... although it's never ideal to generalise, if we accept that folks are polarised on most subjects rather than on the fence, then whatever you try you're inevitably going to find that "you cannot please all of the people all the time". My $0.02? Well, those who don't like (or at least are ambivalent to) the music are interested in your content and what you have to say, and hence will harbour subjectively unwelcome responses to muzak that is loud enough to detract from your commentary. In time the iPhone will be your best friend there! On the other hand, those who cannot get through an altruistic helpful video because it doesn't have any backing music are likely not to be that interested in what you are doing or have to say, and you should simply cross them off your target audience because you have way more important fish to fry than that. Just do whatever suits you and to h3ll with the detractors. If doing nothing suits you then that's what's going to be the better option for you and most folk would understand.
The happy medium has to be music that doesn't detract from the prime objective of providing valued content. I note that you already have north of a couple of hundred subscribers? In a better world more would take the trouble to like, subscribe and hit the bell, but it isn't an ideal world Eddie as you know right well.

Well Eddie, I don't want to rub the fur the wrong way or add to your frustration. But I went back and took a look at the comments on your last 10 or so videos. And it's only Steve and I that have been commenting on your videos. And we have only been been supportive of your work and videos. The only one that could be remotely construed as negative was mine about making me seasick. But I only wanted to have you think about making the camera stationary and maybe show some work.
Said all that to say maybe don't post your videos on Facebook if that's where all the hate is coming from. And also remember that no matter what the comment on YT is, good or bad comments are good things as far the algorithm is concerned.
Lastly if making videos isn't fun any more or to much hassle for the reward it's entirely ok to do what you want. Like you said you're not getting paid to do this. I'm not trying to tell you to quit but You need to do what works for you.
I know Steve and I are here for you and only want you to be healthy and happy in your process.

All -
Getting over - and learning to deal with - the online abuse I've taken with GuitarAttack is one reason I am still online.
It is easy to say "forget about it" or "don't let it bother you" or "sticks and stones" but that normally doesn't work. It seems like everybody takes abuse online now from the President to Elon Musk to all YouTubers.
My most-viewed video, done almost eight years ago, has 75,000 views. I have 556 "thumbs ups, and 142 comments. Looking at the stats on YouTube Studio, the only thing I can conclude is that more people like it than hate it.
The next closest video I have in terms of views is my TubeWorks demo with 3,200 views, 32 thumbs ups, and 16 comments. I like that one better, but making videos is hard, and Eddie's video skills are getting much better. I also like Dane's CNC video (lol).
The true troll move is when they send a negative email to me from Guitarattack.com rather than post it on YouTube. Seems more personal and takes more self-control not to launch a rant back.
The only thing I take some solace in is that most of the trolls I've encountered neither play, build, nor repair guitars but have somehow ascended to "know it all" status.
I'd much rather produce something I like in spite of the critics.
Let's all keep at it, and prove the haters wrong.

Well, Like I have said, I do delete some of the comments I get. I am pretty on the top pf things on my YT channels.
But also don't forget, I do know people that hear from that are related to me. They are not on Facebook or YT.
Then I had that guy off of eBay who won't lever me alone. He is taking screenshots of me from my YT channel and posting them with some bad stuff about me. At this point, I don't think he is ever going away!
But I do have a new video I am going to upload tomorrow morning. I did a lot of editing to it. I also did a lot of work on using my stand for my cam. To get them good shots without making anyone sea sick. LOL!
Also, I have told you all, I have bot been doing well. Just has another attack yesterday. When things go wrong for me, they go bad. Just like me having to redo the neck on the P90.
So that lays heavy on me. I have had a lot of things going on. So when someone comes along and says something a little off to me, It hits me hard.
Well, enough said. Sorry for my out burst! EB
