OK. This is hands down the best T guitar I have ever owned! Some people put it down. But this T never has disappointed me in the way she sings and plays!
She is made of mahogany, AAAA on the back. The top is birch.
The mahogany was some I had left over from another build. It was 1" thick. The birch was some I bought at Home Depot. It, too, was 1" thick. I glued the two halves together.(this is where some people think I messed up.) I left the wood natural and I used my Minwax tung oil to seal it off. I left in a dull look.
I started out I was going to paint the guitar and use copper on it. But after I saw how cool the wood looked, I could not cover it with paint. My son (at some time later) did the leather pick guard for me.
This guitar now has been around for a lot of years. It even fell off a wall hanger and survived. It did get two small places (dents) in it. But that gives it character. On the back, the finish is starting to wear off. But again that shows her age.
I was in my guitar room today and walked by the guitar, and I know it spoke to me... Pick me up and play me... LOL! Really it did! I stared playing the guitar and WOW! I love this guitar. I don't care what some have said about the guitar. She will always be an amazing guitar. With the Tex mex pickups and 4 way switching, you can't go wrong.
Oh, the neck is maple on maple with medium jumbo frets. 22 of them. Two-way truss rod. 25 1/2" scale The tuners are from Fender, the pots and switch is also from Fender. Pretty much what comes on a USA Tele is in this guitar.
So the guitar may not be for everyone and that's OK, I did not build this guitar for anyone but me.
Playing this guitar today sure made me feel good! She is simple with a nice body and neck. I would match her up with anything out there. This guitar has held its own over and over again. It will cut through the mix every time.
Yes, she is in one of the videos I did along with my Eagle amp. But I had to brag on her one more time.

She's a beauty Eddie. I remember it going together. Long before I bought my first grab acoustic, I baulked at the asking price and explained to the maker that I was sort of happy with my Yamaha LS400vt, and he replied that well over 9/10ths of the "battle" is finding the instrument that speaks to you. Clearly that little varmint has a lot to say to you!

I sold my 2 USA Teles because they did not sound as good or play as good as this one does.
I am going to start selling off my production guitars. No need to keep them anymore. They just sit in the cases, not being played. I don't see me ever playing on stage anymore. So time to let them go. It will be sad to see them go. But everything comes to an end.
But there will be lots of guitars still around me. LOL! EB

That's a nice guitar Eddie. Simple beauty of a T style guitar paired with mellow toned wood. And the leather PG sets if off just right.

Leo was a visionary. "A spirit of the age". That was part of a caption beneath a photo of him in his workshop that I remember from a book by Ken Achard about Fender guitars that I bought back in the late 1970s. When I was a young turk, I had no time for Teles- it had to be a Strat for me, but I've swung completely the other way now and I find S-types a bit ho-hum nowadays. Not the sound of a Strat- the "in-between" settings are just great. It's just the strapped on feeling, and the down and dirty robust nature of the Tele ticks my boxes now. If I occasionally want space age looks, I go for the Firebird now. How fickle and shallow is that! What's to do with my Strat and four S-types then?

I was just the opposite Steve. Teles were and probably still are my fav production guitar. But you guys know I kind of went on a Strat binge. And I'm really liking the sound and playing of the Strats. Of course the one I'm really liking isn't really a Strat. More a Strat shaped hum bucker guitar with a fixed bridge.
Don't do anything rash selling off guitars. it's a cycle.

A long, long time ago in a lifetime far, far, away, there were only two guitars that existed in my life. The 1971 LP custom and a Fender start! Both were black. Back then I would tell people that if it was not a black guitar then it was not a guitar. LOL!
So get in the time machine and travel to 2023 I have had more guitars than I want to think of. I don't really remember when I feel for the Teles. For whatever reason, the Tele seems to call to me. Almost as much as the LPs.
I lost something for the Starts along the way, but the Tele remains top with me. I like a Tele better for the kind of music I do. I have found that some out there don't like the tele at all. But I guess we can't all like the same things.
It did take some time for me to convince my wife to like the Tele. But after I made a few, and she heard how they can sound off, she has changed her thoughts on them.
Every time I pick up the Tele in the picture and play it she always tells me how good it sounds. She is also quick to say, or maybe it's the player? LOL!

Speaking of Strats. Out of all the starts I have owned, this one is by far the best one. This is another one that everything worked out well. The recurved neck to the pickups.
This guitar has an alder body with lacquer finish. Rosewood on maple neck. It is the fist Start I have owned with a fixed bridge, string through. It's been a long time since I feel for a Start. This is the one and only one I have these days. I sold off all the rest of them.
I plan on keeping this one around for a long while.
