Many people go on about the tone of a guitar. Most times it's about the so-called "tone woods"
But if you will, listen to toward the end of this video and how making a small change in the amp (tube) can change everything. The guitar is out of tune, but you can hear how an amp can change the way a guitar will sound off.
This is an Uncle Dug video. I have always looked up him, and he has helped out with some of my amps in how to fix them. He is a helpful guy.

There is a big way in how one can change the sound or tone of ab amp. Making the guitar go from thin sounding to fat sounding. He used the same setting and the same guitar in this video. Sound like the same person on the guitar as well.
Another case of where does the sound/tone come from? LOL!
