WOW! Here we are in 2023. Never thought I would have made it this far. LOL!
I hope everyone had some good times last year. I had some trials to overcome, but at the same time had some great things happen. I trust you were all safe from the New Year's Eve stuff. Living in the country, we had a lot of people shooting off guns. Not a safe thing to do.
But, like every year, I do look forward to a better year than the last. I am concerned about the USA leaders and how our country is being run. But I still love the USA.
The past year 2022, I got to move to country and have a big shop for my guitar making. Living in the country has it's up's and down's, but my wife and I love it out here. I only wish that we didn't have to go to the big city for doctor care. As we are aging, it seems we live at the doctors. HA! Our home away from home.
So In the last year I got to make 5 guitars. All of them for myself. I even found a few acoustic guitars that I was able to fix and flip. When I got my new shop, I was able to get a few more tools for it that makes it easier for me to keep on making guitars and other items.
What will this year bring for me and my wife? Hard telling. But we will be celebrating our 50th anniversary in March. That to me will be the high light of the New Year. Not too many out there make it to 50 years of marriage.
Again, I hope you all had a good last year. I hope and pray that you all will have a better year this year.
Be at Peace, and go hug someone! Eddie (Eagle Blues)

Happy New Year to you and Nancy!
Congrats on 50 years of wedded bliss my friend. Johnnie and I have 50 years in 2026. The secret is finding women that will put up with us.
Also Steve and I posted on the Merry Christmas thread with NewYear greetings.

We "celebrate" our 1st next week! However, despite amounting to much the same thing, our's is what is known as a Civil Partnership, not a wedding. Fair play though- we've been together for 43 years! The reason for that move was that when the first of us carks, the jolly old State would force the survivor to sell up the house to pay the invidious Death Duties. It's simply obscene to throw someone out of their home often in old age just to satiate a clutching clawing grabbing tax regime.
We have gay folks to thank for Civil Parnerships- they were created for them before gay marriages were legalised. Next up, the "straight" folks complained discrimination because they were in turn denied a Civil Partnership so they were eventually allowed too. I'm sorry to say that religion carries the bulk of the blame for the mess. It's a twisted up world from time to time.

I've never paid much attention to the tax structure in England. Except for the song Tax Man by the Beatles and what the did early on in their careers moving to France because the tax rate at home was 95%. That's what I heard anyway.
Congrats on 43 years of " Civil Partnership Bliss". Oh, I guess it's one year of CPB and 42 of hanging out. LOL!
