I am trying to get into guitar repair as a hobby and have bought a couple old beaters that could use some TLC to practice on. I've got this Kay K108 that has a plastic bridge. The bottom of the bridge is "hollow". There isn't a solid surface to glue. Even if there was, the finish of the guitar covers the whole front. There are no bare spots or old visible glue marks to show where to put it. Note there are no screw holes in the front of the guitar. I know I can measure from the 12th fret so I can figure out where to place the bridge, but how do I attach it? Does it just sit on top? Held down by string tension? Thanks in advance for the consideration. tk

Hi kingt, it's a "floating" bridge. It's held in place by the downward pressure exerted by the tension in the strings, much like a violin family instrument. No need to be bonded down with adhesive.

Yes, on the free floating bridge. But if you want to, you can use a little bit of two-sided tape. (thin stuff) to help keep it for moving around. It's not going to hurt the sound of the guitar at all.
I have done that on a lot of free floating bridge guitars. Some people have a heavy hand and while they play they can move the bridge. But be warned that once the tape in place, it will be hard to move should you need to make an adjustment. The tape will not hurt the finish.
Looks like a fun project! EB

Thanks to you both.
I like the two sided tape idea, I may go with that. I'll play without first and see how I like it.
Now I can go spend 30 hours fixing up a guitar worth $30. ;-)
