Surprised, no one said anything on this. I was looking at the acoustic guitars and how they all sound pretty good next to each other. EB

I watched it Eddie and I thought it was good too, but like as often happens, you watch some YouTube shorts and one or two other videos and you forgot why you went there and indeed where you'd come from! Still, we do our bit for YouTubes happy honeymoon revenue from TicToc eh?

Don't know how I missed this one. Pretty sure I've seen this before. These are very, very good aren't they? And yes I heard four different guitar tones but they all sounded very good and worked well with each other. Of course if you played them one at a time for a period of time one might decide they like the sound of a particular one the best. Lots of things to consider with playing style.

Went off and watched Steve's video. Honestly it's not my jam but I have respect for anyone that has total control of an instrument. Of course he has beat it into submission. Wild with the detuning and retuning strings. Did you guys notice he changed the E and B tuners. Looks like he used banjo tuners for better access.

It's not just the total control, it's that these guys can sing at the same time.
I once saw Martin Simpson in a glorified Boy Scouts clubhouse (shed!) next to a pub in Thames Ditton, and when he asked for requests I was straight in there asking for "Banks of the Sweet Primroses" and he said "flip, I'll have to sit down for that one!" That he did and played it flawlessly whilst singing too. Now, I have the tab for that piece which I bought from his website and I learned it about 12-13 years ago. It's in dropped "D" tuning and it's flippin' difficult. Sure I can "play" it, but without a mistake probably one time in twenty. Guys that sing and play complex stuff impress me. Maybe you've heard of Lon Eldridge from over your side? Such a fine player and arranger of old school blues, ragtime, hill country blues and more, yet he has hardly any subscribers and even fewer views. The folks that put effort and/or creativity in never seem to get justly rewarded. Anyhoo- players who sing get my vote, even if it's the guitar I really want to hear.
I reckon they're "Hipshot" tuners Dane.

Steve, his singing while playing like that did not go unnoticed. I'll check out Lon Eldridge and give him a sub.

With apologies to Eddie for appropriating his thread: youtu.be/MDNrP8CLOcwAlso check out Daddy Stovepipe's YouTube channel for more along the same lines, but perhaps a bit better recordings. でつ e&oe ...

I checked out Lon and I like him a lot. And the Sand Man version you shared is killer. An acoustic guitar with no processing and a voice with no pitch correct. The way God intended it.
