Here is a new video I made today with my new iPhone 13 pro. I think it came out pretty good for the fist one. Check it out!

I saw yo on the YouTubes brother. The new phone is a huge improvement in quality. No lighting issues and very clear picture. The new camera technology is something else! It uses the lite that is there and adjusts for it. It says it will even record in a room that is dark and make it clear. I an so happy the way it came out. Still learning the software for making the videos. But it's fun.
The other thing I like about it is the sound. On my end of things it sounds so much better. I was playing some music I have on it the other day and it sounds like surround sound. It's sound really good. Phone calls are crystal clear.
Well, I do like the new phone. I never thought I would like something so much as I do this phone. LOL! It uses 5G I think that is what makes it even better. I have no problems getting on line anywhere. Never had that before.
One thing I can say about apple is. They may be expensive but they work! I never had an issue hooking up to blue tooth, wifi and so on. Other phones I have in the past always had issues in this. I really like to get one of the Apple laptops. But, I don't think I will ever be able to afford one. My granddaughter that is in collage has one. The things she does with it (as far as making films) are out of this world.
People can bad mouth apple all they want. But their stuff works! I do agree that the price is high for many.

That's a seismic change in your videos Eddie. Absolutely first class. No can argue with it.
I have a friend with a Mac. He tried and tried but just couldn't read my camera's SD card in an USB card reader. He had to boot a virtual machine of XP on his Mac to read it, cursing under his breath. Go figure. Another time I bought a card reader on eBay which simply refused to work. After hours and hours of internet searching I figured out that the seller had previously used it in her Mac, and the Mac automatically, silently and irreversibly flashed the thing's firmware. She gave me a refund.
Apple gear is awesome hardware, but way too prescriptive. At one time (and it may not be the case any longer) you couldn't even bluetooth (eg) a picture you'd taken to another 'phone- it was mandatory to upload to the Apple cloud (iTunes?) and download to the other device. That kind of thing is too much for me. I haven't even touched on Apple prices.
But I know I'm in a minority Eddie!

Linux will do the same thing as well as MS. I can do something on MS and it wont read on Linux . Or I can do things on Linux and it won't read on MS. The thing I found is not the OP system but in how things are set up. How the USB drive is set up. A lot of people will use a USB drive without formatting it before they use it. When formatting you have to pick the right format so that the data can be seen on other devices. Other wise it will format to the device you are using.
Once I learned this I have had no problems with USB drives. There are also ways of wiping out a USB drive so that it can be reformatted.
So, it's not always because of Mac, Linux or MS, it's how we do things. This is a part of computing that many do not understand. Sorry to say that the software makers have not tried to make this better. I agree that is is a pain in the butt. But for now that is the way it is.
Benn messing with computers way before anyone had them in their homes. Back in the early days of printing and when we had the first computerized system, we had to know how to program the computer to do a job before we could use it. To do an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of text it would take up to two or three days to program. If you had one tiny mistake in code it would not work and you would have to reprogram the whole thing all over again. With someone like me it doing it was so frustrating. But there was a lot of things you had to know on the fly to get things done. Yes I went to school for that. But as time went on things got better. When Apple came out it was a game changer for the most part. Apple was the one that made things easier for people to use computers in business. Yes I know about IBM but that was no where near what Apple did for business. Sometime later on then MS got involved and that meant more competition for Mac.
So, now that we can all have computers in our homes does not mean they are user friendly. More so to people that do not know how to really use a computer. All computer can do a lot more than the average person knows. I can still use to my computer to access things by using the command prompts. There I can inter code and do things like, rad USB drives that were not readable through software. I have done this many times to read hard drives as well. To find info on hard drives ans so on.
Someday things will change. Computers and cell phones have come a long ways. The are getting better and better.

All -- good discussion.
I have an iMac I used strictly for recording music. It is a great machine, but I don't do regular updates to the operating system because it works so well. One thing I've found about the Mac: unlike Windows machines, when you update a Mac, there is a pretty good chance your programs will no longer work. This is a real problem with ProTools - you get in a constant update loop of having to keep everything up to date, and those updates are not free.
I still have some Dell Windows 95 desktop machines in my underground lair. I use them for my CNC rig because they have MS-DOS capability. One has Microsoft Word, and Lotus 1-2-3 on it, and you can still do work on it if you don't have to get on the internet. I've found they all still work great, and those computers from the mid-90s were built to upgrade and work on. New desktops are generally disposable and have become a commodity.
I've found I use my iPad for just about everything now.
My two cents, John

Eddie, I used to use DOS too. One of my secret "tricks" was restoring registries at the command line on machines that wouldn't get beyond the POST for work colleagues who always blamed their children for the pornography on their cobbled machines :<D
It was established by the guy who ran "HyperOs" that Windows 10 still had MS-DOS running under the hood (probably a stripped down version like DOS V7.0) despite Redmond's protestations to the contrary. (Along with various software companies, governments and related defence organisations, MicroSoft was listed as a customer of HyperOs- go figure!)
It's a shame that HyperOs has ceased trading- that was some seriously powerful software, I ran it for years up until W7.
It's a fair bet that Windows 11 is no different regarding MS-DOS. It won't be long before the "service" that Windows has become goes over to running a Linux kernel. Just like The Mac. What business model would continue to maintain code when thd open source will do it free of charge?
I concur with the tangible quality of Macs, iPhones and iPods etc, but the imposed Apple restrictions make it a no-no for me. I "do" all the "IT" under this roof, so when Best Beloved says she would like an iPhone like her friends, I just hand her the password list and say that I'm not prepared to pollute my diminishing grey cells with a familiarity of Apple's ever changing peccadilloes in addition to M$'s and Android.
Ho-hum, back to Eddie's new improved video and associated audio I guess?

Ho-hum, back to Eddie's new improved video and associated audio I guess? でつ e&oe ...Not to burst any bubble, but MS had already been using Linux in windows 10. One reason it's been working better. But they must have gone back to the old ways of doing things in 11. Seems a lot of people are not liking the new Windows 11. But like or not MS OP systems have always been plagued with all kinds of bug, virus's and so on. Until they change the way the make their OP systems it always will have problems. I got to be an expert with widows 98 to the point I did some changes to it through DOS. To make the system run better. Back then you could still make changes. Not like today. I seen today that Apple is wanting to buy out Samsung. So if they do there will be a lot of huge changes in the Samsung phones and or iPhone.
there are a lot of big changes coming in the way we use computers and OP systems. I say in the next 5 years computers will be nothing like we know of them today. In fact I wall say that OP systems as we know it will be gone. There will be no need for them in the future. We will direct hook up to the internet and everything we use to do on computers will be done on line. No more need for hard drives because everything will be a cloud.
Right now I put almost everything on the cloud. I use to not use it. But I now do. So much better to use than trying to store everything on a hard drive. Not only that I can down load anything from the cloud to any device I am using. So much easier. I can put my photos, music, and other things on the cloud and get anywhere at any time. Comes in handy when I want to show people stuff.
But this is the way it's going to be. The last new laptop I bought was all geared for the cloud storage. The SD drive that was in it was only 250gig. That is a long ways away from 500gig and up. Also Passwords will become a thing of the past. All of the major company's are switching over to face and finger print ID's. Almost all of the stuff I use on line now have switched over to this. Of course I had to set up my iPhone to allow it. The nice thing about it I no longer have to remember passwords.
I use Fire Fox for many of on line things it to remembers my passwords. But I have to be signed into Fire Fox. So no mater how safe we all think we are on line, the fact is your not. And no matter how hard we try to fight change it does happen.
Yep been around a long time too. Back in the DOS days don't forget Linux was there as well. I was using both back before there was any "windows" to be using. Back then you could make your own. We could do that today. But no one wants to sit and write code anymore for fun. LOL!
I use to have a huge passion for all this stuff. But not anymore. I do try and keep up with whats coming out, just to see if some of the things I see are coming to pass. I will say most of them have and I have a feeling that some are just over the horizon.
Now back to the new videos. I am so excited about the way the new video came out. I am right now doing a new one about the bindings for my Eagle Blues guitar. I have one more segment to video today then I'll be posting it later on today or tomorrow.
I find the world of technology and computing fascinating and scary at the same time. It has come a long way And in the most part it has gotten so much better since the first time I used a computer that would take up a whole office space with a lonely key board sitting in a corner. LOL! EB

I've found they all still work great, and those computers from the mid-90s were built to upgrade and work on. New desktops are generally disposable and have become a commodity. I've found I use my iPad for just about everything now. My two cents, John Yes, I had a windows 95 for ever on an old computer. But the mother board went out on it and could never find one that would work with 95. Same with a windows 98. Al of the OP systems will work. And there are a lot of people reviving them. I see one guy do what I use to do to 98 and that is where you can go into the DOS and make changes to it and make it run better. OP systems back then had what was known as a back door. As well as a many software CDs. But like all things they don't have then back doors, will not as many as there use to be. LOL! There is always a way to hack something. LOL
But I do feel they are making things a lot better these days for the end-user. Many people today don't have to worry about how to use a computer like we all once had to do. DOS and Linux back in the early days one had to know how to compute. How to program a computer it get it to do the things you wanted it to do. Today we get a glitch and it's the end of the world. But back then I can't tell how many hours I spent rewriting code because I forgot to put in something.
Yes updates. You are right. I think they do that update thing and then charge people for them to keep them in business. I quit using all of the programs I once had after they started charging more and more for the updates. But I now longer have any real interest in making or putting down my music like I once did. I do feel that I lost a lot of that do to fact of so many upgrade charges for programs I paid a lot of money for. Just didn't seem right to me. But like OP systems we really don't own them. I can remember a time ago MS was going to start charging for their OP system updates. They were told that if they did that they could not charge people for their office programs. So they never did start charging. LOL!
But in a lot of way we do pay for them. Right now Windows 11 will not work on many machines out there. That is because they want people to buy the new ones that have all the latest hardware. Of course it's All Ms stuff. Just like when W10 came out. Most of us did not like it when it came out because none of the old hardware and software would not work with it.
So, it that time again that will have to upgrade because our old computers will get to where they won't be able to keep up. Because we won't be getting anymore support from MS. But I will use my windows 10 computers until that day happens. Not going to run out and buy me a new windows 11. I'll wait until windows 12 , 13 or 20 comes out. LOL!
