It was a lot of fun to do. people laughed, were full of joy, making fun jokes with me and I with them. It was one of the best times in my life!
I got to hold a 3 week old baby. Had lady's that had to sit on my lap. There was this little girl that just had to hang around me. My wife and I went in to see the show and we got ready to leave that same little girl see me and had to hug me good by and she said... I love you Santa. WOW! that really got to me.
These days we need more of that. Spreading joy and laughter. It was also fun to see kid and adults change in a moment going form grumpy to laughing after being around me. I would play Santa every day if I could. It was awesome! In fact awesome does not say it all.

Well, now back to my projects!

Eddie -- Love the photos of you and Mrs. Claus (Wellman). You are a great guy and I really admire your energy.
The tools and jigs are awesome, too. I really like seeing that kind of innovation.
What is Santa Claus going to bring me this year?

I got the flip top done. I'll post pictures later on.
I bought a Bottom tool box and I am using it for my drill press. I also bought a filling cabinet for my band saw, I got it for $5.00. it has 3 drawers in it. One small and two that are bigger. I have two more project's that I am working.
One project, is a center table with my table saw in it. Two will be a stand for my two table belt sanders. I may end up putting one of them on one of the cabinets.
I'll post some pictures later on in the week.
I had to order parts of them 2 acoustic guitars I am working on. So I'll see how soon they get here. But, it the mean time I'll be working on my little shop. I think I am going to like having everything on a carts that roll around. Yes they have locks on the wheels. LOL!
The table saw table will not have wheels on it. Although I an still thinking on it. Oh, I did take the big black table I was using apart. That is what I'll be using for the table saw. The table was made to have a leaf in it. So my wife and I took the rails off the top. So now I have two halves of a table. I'll be using the 4 legs that are on the table for the table saw table.
I an going to try and make something for the saw dust, that will allow the saw dust to go into some kind of a container. Still thinking on how to to that, or make some kind of a port so the shop vac can hook up to it.
So, I have a few things to do. Trying hard to get a lot done with the weather being so good right now. Also trying to make my little shop a litter better to work in. So, when I get back onto my Eagle Blues guitar, I can work on it and not have to squeeze between stuff to do what I need to do. So, far it has been working out as far as what I had in my head , in how I wanted the shop to look like. I should gain about 2 feet of work space once everything is done.

Sounds like you are very good at organizing. I keep trying to figure out how to get all my stuff just put away.

Sounds like you are very good at organizing. I keep trying to figure out how to get all my stuff just put away. I do like to organize a shop. When I was in printing, I use to like to organize the shops so that the work flow would go smoothly. Plus I wold like to keep the shop clean. So, it now carries onto my wood working shops. I am not one that will let the shop get out of order or dirty. That is me. Even when I cut out something, be it plywood or hard wood. I like to clean up after the cutting is done. I do it more now than ever, because of my shop being right outside our living room. But right now the biggest thing for me is to get to where my work can flow better. Tired of fighting for space. I hope what I have or am doing will help improve it some. May not cure it all, but it should be better.
In past print shops that I worked in, the owners could not get over how much better production was after I rearranged their shops. Even when I had my own shop, it was arranged to be efficient and it was clean.
I really don't know where I got that from. But, I have been that way since I was a kid. Back when I was a kid my toys had to be put away a certain way and they got put away clean. Right now I can't stand it because there is dust all over my shop vac. LOL! EB

I was dreadfully untidy when I was "on the bench". I suspect it's a "where there's muck there's brass" mentality. Certainly I used to have this thing about not paying tradesmen to clear up after themselves every day- just a sweep clean when the job's done. I think attitudes have changed these days due to health and safety and risk assessments? We used to have plywood sheet affixed to the back of our benches to which we used to hang all the job's drawings with "Bulldog" clips. (There could easily be forty-odd drawings.) I always had "stuff" piled up in a ramp towards that back board. I always locked away my tools every night though. Your way is so much better Eddie.

OK... here is how my shop is shaping up.
We got the table saw table as done as it's going to be for now. I also left the mess on the floor to show you all I do get messy at times. LOL!
Here are the 3 cabs in a role. Far left is the flip top. It has the sander and joiner/planer on it. The middle one is the drill press. I got that cab from Home Depot. It was on sale and was a lot cheaper than making one to hold the drill press. on the right is the filing cab I got for 5 dollars. It has my 9" band saw on it. So cool to have all of the new storage too!
I now have work space. LOL! It's not much but better than what I had before.
another look from the table saw.
I have one more bench/cab to make. That one will hold the two table belt sanders. I am thinking of making another flip top and put both sander on one side. (I do have all this plywood I need to something with.) Keeping the other side and a small work bench. But that is not going to happen to soon. Once the parts come in for the 2 acoustics I'll need to get them done. Then after that I want to get back on the Eagle Blues guitar. Plus I need a brake form working on the shop. LOL!

I decided to give an update with my shop vac and dust collection.
This is the fist time I opened up the 5gal bucket. It is about half full. This is the bucket that the dust collection is on.
This is the shop vac itself. Almost no dust in it. The filer had a little bit on it. I dusted it off in the trash bag. But there was hardly anything on it dust wise.
The only thing I don't like about this system is, it's to tall to fit under my table. The other thing I learned about is that a single 5gal bucket is not enough. The bucket on it's own will cave in. At least it did on me. So to fix that you have to put that bucket into another 5gal bucket. It has not collapsed since I did that. Easy fix, but I wish they had said something in the instruction.
Other than the things I told ya, it works great. I have no more problems with the vac loosing suction. It work super good on my tools as well. I think better than it did with just the vac. I am going to make a stand that will keep the two together. Right now it's a little hard to move them both at the same time. I was going to buy a long hose for it. But I think they want to much money for one. So I'll wait until I can find an old vac I can buy and use the hose off it. I'll join what I have together with the other one. If I do that I can leave the vac and the dust bucket in one place and use the long hose.

Well that's some pretty good suck! Collapse a 5 gal. bucket. Could you put a plastic bag in the bucket? So you don't have to empty the bucket into a bag latter? I know the dust likes to go all over went transferred from the collector to the bag.
