This Gary Moore show came up on my youtube recommended. I love Guthrie Govan, Eric Gales and some technical shredders but I can't relate them to my style of playing.
I just love how the tone and wild abandon in this particular show. Anyone else?Gary plays Jimi

Wild abandon describes Gary very well. I watched LET ME STAND NEXT TO YOUR FIRE and RED HOUSE. WOW!! Massive attitude and mastery of the fretboard. Very Jimi but very Gary.
and great Strat tones!

Nice playing from Gary there. Actually, that's a bit of an understatement! I don't know about GOAT so far as Hendrix covers go- I remember being baffled by Stevie Ray pouring Little Wing out of my car's stereo one day- it was the realisation that there had been no vocals at the end which was the only tell for me. I didn't experience that frisson with Gary Moore's video linked to above, but that doesn't alter the fact it was great and all opinions are only ever subjective.
Lest we forget, Gary disrespected Peter Green's wishes regarding "Greenie" and that was naughty, but that's all water under the bridge now. Thanks muchly for the link.
