Hey all, I go in on the 19th for eye surgery. So, it look like I will not be able to do anything for a long while as far as guitars or even maybe getting on line.
My right eye is messed up and needs to be fixed. I am told it can take up to 4 month for me to get my vision back close to normal. I am in hopes that this surgery will fix my eye. So if after the 19th if you don't see me posting you will know why.
If you would like to know what I see out of my right eye... Take your index finger and hold it up in front of your eye, about 2 to 3" away up right or vertical. That is kind of what I see all the time. It's been that way for like 3 or 4 years now. It has gotten worse and is time to try and do something about it.
But, anyway, I am little nervous about getting it done. There are 2 things I don't like doctors to mess with... My eyes and my neck...

Just heard from the doctors office... Still waiting on the billing department to find out the costs. But there is a chance they may need to reschedule the surgery due to the Coronavirus. Plus our granddaughter was just over in Italy So now I will have to be tested for the Coronavirus as well as my wife. So there is a chance I may have to put this off even longer.

That's a double whammy Eddie. Still, I reckon eye work is an area where you don't put it out for the most competitive tender, so you'll have to bide your time?

For sure get tested for the virus Eddie. You don't want to have surgery in the middle of being sick that would bite big time. Hope all of you are well.

Thanks all! We have a few friends that are over seas right now. Don't know if they will be able to come home soon or not. We did have one set of friends that got to fly back yesterday. They cut their vacation short to come home. They may be subject to a 16 day quarantine, but so far they have not been.
Dane, one time in my life when I was in my early 20s I went in for an over night stay/surgery... I got staff infection, I almost died. I was in a coma for 3 days. Out of 3,700 patients I was the fist one to do this to my doctor. He stayed with me for the 3 days I was in the coma. I was told that my temp had gone off the charts and that they didn't know if I would pull out of it or come out with a lot of brain damage due to the high fever. By all rights I should have died. This was the second time in my life I should have died. But for reasons I wont go into on here, I lived.
But, you are right about being checked out. They told me they will do a test to me before the surgery to make sure everything is good to go. But like in my other story, I was in good health when they did the surgery. But one can never tell what will happen over the course of things. Anytime they put you under there are risks that can happen.
They have given me some eye drops, 3 of them I have to use after. One is an antibiotic to help fight infections. The other 2 I don't really know at this time what they are for. I will as soon as I pick them up later on today.
I will see how things go soon. So far (as far as today) everything is going as planned.
Thanks again for the support!

My eye surgery has been canceled! I now have to wait another 3 months close to 4 months to get it done. It was canceled due to the Coronavirus. EB

That would have been a pragmatic decision on the part of the health professionals Eddie. It doesn't help you none, but it should free up resources for the expected deluge of Covid19 victims. Stay resolute and you'll be treated when it's safer and more appropriate? We have to pay the balance on a trip to Spain in May by this Friday, yet Spain is on lockdown and our "government" is advising against all unneccesary travel, even within the UK. I'm kind of puzzled and exasperated at the same time by the travel company's position on this. We'll be paying them all that money and as likely as not they'll go under taking our money with them. Something not quite right with that.

My trip is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things Dane, counting one's blessings and all that. I care more for Best Beloved. She works in an operating theatre. She's 65 (all but) and our government is instructing all those over 70 to self isolate. Where does that leave her? She already has impaired lung function as a result of chemotherapy. I wish I could just sweep her up and bring her home, yet she has said that if they request extra work from her due to others being sick or self isolating, then she'll have to do her best. Sometimes it can seem as though you've run out of blessings to tally up! It turns out that her employers have made absolutely zero provision to protect their staff, and in a centre of diseases and infection too. Flip.
