Well, I did it again, got this on trade for the Strat I just got. It's pretty cool little amp. It a 1995/96
Pretty clean for it's age. Someone Has replaced the filter caps in it. and they covered the whole inside with copper shielding tape. A little over kill but it is what it is.
The tag as worn off so it's hard to read.
My biggest pet pave is when someone tapes up a cord and not fix it. It has been worked on my other techs but they would up taping over exposed wire. This is not how you fix a plug cable.
I wound up cutting at the exposed part. Someone had done almost a foot long taping job to it. LOL!
Here are the new ends. I like to use a little shrink wrap on the new ends.
The other thing that the tech did not do was he or she did not use anything to secure the new Caps. I like to use silicone or hot glue to help out. So I don't know if you can see it. But I used hot glue on this one. Only because I was out of silicone.
The amp is now go to go. I traded for this in hopes that a friend of mine would want it. The hour before I did the trade they texted me and told me they did not want the amp. But since I already made a deal with the guy for the amp, I went ahead and did the deal. I did not see the cable/plug had been taped. But it was an easy fix.
The amp sounds really good. If was going to keep it I might change out the speaker and reverb tank. This 2 things you can do to any amp to get a better sound out of an amp.
I like the tweed a lot it is lacquered and has darkened up with age. It's not a heavy amp and should make a cool amp for someone. I don't have the space for it or I would keep it.
I like my Fender Blues Deluxe way too much to get rid of it. LOL! EB

That's a cute little amp. What's the watts on this one Eddie? It is at 15 watts. A lot of people like to use them because they are easy to carry and they can be mic. If your in to amp brake up they brake up easy and won't make your ears bleed. Has a 12" Jensen speaker in it. If I was going to keep it I would change it out. But it sounds pretty good they way it is. I like the Eminence Patriot Swamp Thang. or Tone Tubby. Those speakers to me have a great all around sound to them. Not over the top middy like some speakers can get.
If you have not tried or played through one, you need to. They are a blast to play through. They can get pretty loud if needed. But I like them because you can dial then in so you get a cool sound without getting over the top lowed. This is why I like my Fender Blues Deluxe. That amp is a more open sounding than the Junior. I also like the Peavey classic 30's they too are good little amps that don't brake the bank to get a great sound. I know you have a Classic 50. That is one of my all time favorite amps. But they are big and heavy to carry around. I may never own another big amp. But I do miss them.
We were GC the other day. I got to play on an amp Made by BOSS. WOW! I was so impressed how this NON tube amp sounded! It's really hard to impress me these days. But I was blown away at how good that little amp sounded! Think it was called cantina or something like that. For under $300. I am still thinking I might have to go buy that amp. It is a simple to use modeling amp. But WOW I could not believe what I was hearing come out of that amp and at low volumes.

Hey Eddie I've heard the Kantana on Ken's YT channel. Of course everything is compressed on YT but still it sounded good.
I do have the 50 watt PV Classic which is absolutely massive in tone and weight. I play at a CR group once a month and when we go electric I use my Epi 5 watt stack. I've said it here before I can't even turn that little amp up more than about were two would be it's just really loud. And it has no fan so it warms up fast and breaks up even when it's clean.

Love them classic 50s. I had one of them EPI's once. I didn't have it long. Someone talked me out of it. But that is one thing that impressed me about the Kantana, it was has a big sound at low volumes. Much like my Yamaha 10c. Only I can get more volume form the Kantana. Well, I was impressed.

Well the Junior is now history. I traded it off for another guitar. I'll be flipping it.

Eddie you're a gear flipping mad man. HA! HA!... It's a part of my hobby. Gives me something to do. I didn't have that much in the amp. So I'm not really out anything. Just some time on fixing things. Wheeling and dealing is a part of me. I do have them days were I don't think I'll do it anymore, but some things die out hard.
I just met someone last night that has a bunch of guitars that he said all need some help to make them good playable guitars. He was going to try and fix them himself but after he played some of my guitars, he told me he would rather have me do the work on them.
So, it will be interesting to see if he will bring then to me.
HA! one of the fist things he asked me... How do you get the action so low without any fret buzz?... LOL! I told him that info will cost ya! HA! HA! HA!
