I hope you all had a great Christmas. I hope you got what you wanted and were safe and around lots of family and friends.
We got to see most of our 11 grand kids. A couple could not make the trip here.
If anyone is looking for leather stuff done for your guitar like a pick guard or straps. Let me know, my son does some cool stuff with leather. He also makes other things as well. I'll post a picture of the strap he made me.
Well, it was great to see most of our family. We laughed a lot and had some super good food. One day I made my ham that I do on the BBQ with apricot glaze and I also smoke it with cherry wood. Really, Really good! Once you eat one of my hams you will never want to have another! LOL! Christmas day we had turkey. We inject it with this spicy butter. WOW That was good!
Well, it's about time for me to get back on a couple of guitar projects. I hope you all are getting ready to get back to posting and showing your projects. Just think it will be a new year soon! 2020. Wow I never thought I would ever make this far.

We had a very busy Thanksgiving week with lots of people staying at our house. Christmas was very quite by comparison. Just us chickens as they say.
But wishing you all a great NEW YEAR with lots of fun guitar related projects! My latest query is trying to find an Eco friendly clear finish that drys fast and has high scratch resistance. I'm messing with UV cure Solarrez products now with no sunshine in sight so you see my dilemma.
Eddie, I too am slightly surprised to have made it this far. Some of the things I did as a young man were quite dangerous/stupid but leave me with an acute understanding of what I can longer accomplish. Kind of depressing really. I like to say "if I'd known I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself".

Both of you guys have a firm grasp on reality and instinctively know how to approach just about anything guitar related, and I'm willing to bet that extends to "stuff" in general. Neither of you would have got that far without skating on thin ice.
On Christmas day, we had three from my side and two from SWMBO's side for a festive Turkeyduck lunch. I bought a five litre tin of "Ghost Ship" real ale, and an 18 pints collapsible plastic "Polypin" of the majestic Fuller's London Pride ale. My 20 years old nephew made a massive dent in the Pride and Best Beloved's older brother made a similar attack on the gallon can. I was too busy serving! Everyone was very well behaved so I think that's OK for once a year. I don't drink champagne but judging by the recycle bin, I think four bottles of that disappeared too.
We had a secret Santa this year on my side of the families. Santa bought me another Levy's leather strap. It's good to have plenty of straps. I still have four solids left to strap up. I still cannot get my head around Levy's straps because the wide padded bit runs out somewhere at the back of my neck. What's the point in that?
I wish you guys the very best for the coming year ahead, and Eddie specifically I hope you see some positive turn around in your circumstances.
I'd also like to take the annual opportunity to extend my customary thanks to John for his continued forebearance and keeping a steady course through the sea of spam. Only this week the ban hamster came down again! Respect John.
We're off out with our Golden Retriever to Windsor Great Park now. Life's good. I hope it is likewise for everyone else.
Steve.

Sounds like a great day Steve.
The Levi strap pad is an interesting puzzle. Seems like as long as they've been making them someone might have pointed out this problem.

Thanks! FYI the lacing on this is done by hand. Looks like it was done by a machine. The whole strap was done by hand.
Al least he got some of his talent from me. LOL! He also likes and build cars. He has 2 projects a 1950 Merc. And a 1937 Olds. Wish I could be helping him on them.
He is a great son!

Good to have things in common with our kids. My son Stephen is not interested in things mechanical but we have music in common. Some of his music you will hear on my YT channel.

No ankle snappers here! My nephew got to grade six piano and grade 4 or 5 violin but his studies took over. (he was at Eton College and is now at Cambridge university.) A bit of a smart cookie but a great lad, really polite and a credit to my sister and her husband. A bit sparce on practical skills though.
I always did wonder about some of that music Dane! Please forward my compliments to him.

I'll be seeing him this week Steve and will pass along the complement. I try to give the band credit when I use his music but I'm sure I've missed it at times.
