Well you all seen the first one. It is a Fender Squire Strat

This is the one!

The other one is this guitar.

 These are the two I traded for the SG.

 I have to say after I did a set up on the GFS Jazz master guitar it plays really good. It even sounds good with them GFS pickups made by Artic. These sell for around $235 US new no case on the GFS web site.

  I am not a big fan of GFS but I have to say this guitar is not half bad. It still need to have some fret work done to the fret ends. There is no fret buzz on it anywhere, and I have set the action pretty low on it.

   I may keep it around for a while, But if I can find someone that would buy it I might sell it.

    But for now I need to play it some more to see if can fall in love with it. This is one of them guitars that have no resale value. the body and neck are made from some good woods. The body is alder the neck Maple and rosewood fret board. But because of the name it's not worth a lot.

 The P90s in this are noisy. I may see what I can do about that if I keep it around.

 Well anyway. I am now stuck with another guitar that It's not worth a lot. I may bundle these guitar that I have and see if someone will trade me an other tube amp of some kind. Hum...

Are they actual P90s Eddie? I can't make it out in the picture. I like Jazzmaster style guitars. What is the scale length? I think the Jaguar has a slightly shorter scale length than normal Fender 25.5" (ish).

on this guitar it is 25.5 scale. According to the web site they are P90s.

That's the problem with offshore built guitars, no resale value. If you just need a guitar that you can make or have made play well then one of these is great. But for the long run they have no value. Unless these GFS guits go the way of Teisco and in 50 years become all the rage.

I bought a SG style Yami over 35 years ago on close out for 200$ which retailed for 450$ if memory serves. Money was tight 5 to 10 years later I tried to sell to a music store. The guitar blue book the guy had said it was worth 69$. Well I still have it.

back in AZ I had 6 Squire strats that I somehow ended up with through trading. I wound up selling them for like $75.00 each. I had gone through them all and set them all up and even put on new strings. The all played and sounded pretty good.

 I was sure I could have gotten at least $100.00 each for them. But I just could not move them. But at $75.00 they all went with in two days. One guy bought 2 of them.  To me it's sad that some of these guitars won't bring more money.

What I find funny is, people will spend over $100.00 for a kit that they are going to wind up replacing everything on it.

 I did try and sell one all apart to see if someone would buy it kind of like a kit. I even offered it with 2 loaded pickguars. NOT one taker on it.

 I had 2 kit Teles that I had gotten on trade and I post one of them on CL for a $135.00 and sold it in the first hour I had posted it. Hum... maybe I should have asked more for it. Go figure.

I looked at it by way of a web search and I was struck by that headstock. They've gone with a sort of German carve which is begging to be whittled down a bit- they've thoughtfully provided a profile!

I have resisted the impulse to buy. I used the same reasoning that I did when I pulled back from buying an Asian Guild S100 Polara. I already have a surfeit of guitars that have a limited resale value. I think I'd have been tempted to hold on to that one Eddie, but there's always another bus coming along?

yes. when they sell fast I always think I didn't ask enough for it. LOL!

 The first thing the guy said was... WOW! The set up is perfect! I did do a set up to it before listing. I learned from the SG. The SG I didn't do a set up on it and the guy I traded with did noting but complain after he got it home.

   So, I wanted to make sure that this guitar was playing good before I sold it.

 The intonation is spot on and I adjust the truss rod and put the action down to where I liked it. When I got the guitar you could slip 2 quarters under the low E at the 12th fret. That's just to high.

 Well, I was tickled that the first thing he said was about the set up and how easy the guitar is to play.

Steve, I am looking for a Fender Jazz master. It may take a while, but I will own one someday. The GFS is a great sounding guitar and I did have some mixed fellings on selling it. But my collection is growing again and I really need to watch how many guitars I have on hand. We have a small bedroom and my closet and walls are full of guitars. LOL!

In fact I need to go list a few more. The wife has been getting on to me. My girls have been multiplying... HA!

 I try to keep them down to around 20 guitars. But then someone comes by that want's one of my guitars and they end up trading me 2 for the one. I can't help it I am a guitar junky!
