Hey all, I just got me a Fender Super Sonic 60 tube amp. I have to say it's a lot of fun to play with. Still learning about it. I need the foot switch for it. If any of you know where I can get one. let me know. It has all the feel and sound of amps of old. It is kind of a loud amp. You have to turn it up to make sound great. But it sounds good at 1 just better around 3 or 4. Still experimenting with it, just got a couple of hours ago. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBTZuZdXV0QEB

That YouTube clip sounds really good EB. Although the guy was only noodling around, you could tell he plays well too.
I'm sure you could make a suitable footswitch? I had to make one for my Sessionette when I bought it because they were no longer made and commanded silly prices.
There are some good deals on standard switch pedals on eBay. That's what I did together with some judicious rewiring and added LED indicators. I know you've spoken of building amps and you certainly enjoy some amp repair success, so lashing up a switch should be a no-brainer for you?

Well, I went ahead and bought one for the super sonic. Should be here soon. I got a pretty good deal on it. EB

I was playing through my Hot Rod Deluxe and my friend was playing the Super Sonic. all I can say is WOW!!! The two amps and guitars we were using sounded just Awesome! It's not often I get impressed these days, but when we played together it gave up both goosebumps! LOL! EB

Cool Eddie, people get goose bumps when I play as well. But it's more like the kind you from dragging your finger nails on a chalk board. Ha

So I bought a new foot switch for this amp. I haven't tried it out yet. But I always wonder... What happens to the foot switches on guitar amps. The Fender Super Sonic comes with the foot switch. What happened to it? Many amps come with the foot switch, and yet when I get these amps the foot switch is missing. So is there some kind of a Troll that goes around taking them? Hum...
Well any way, I do like this amp. The only thing that is a slight draw back for me it, that it's a little noisy and it is a lowed amp. I have it on one maybe one and half, and the guitar on 2 or 3 and it is so lowed. I am going to put my volume pedal on it to see If I can control it better. This is meant to be a stage amp.
The noise is that hiss you get form some older tube amps. That part reminds me of the old days of tube amps. LOL!
But other than that, this amp sounds really good!
I did a stereo split the other day. I used my Fender blues deluxe and the super sonic. WOW!!! I am in heaven. I use to play through two amp in stereo years ago, but I don't think it sounded this good!
OH a word on my Fender Blues Deluxe. As some of you know I rebuilt that amp. New caps, a reverb mod, with a new reverb tank (MOD) and a new speaker "Swamp Thing" The amp is sounding better than factory. So much more life in it now. Better all around sound coming out it. Plus it being a tweed covered amp, (the tweed) really makes it have better tone! LOL!

Same goes for remotes with hifi equipment. I refuse to purchase from folks that have exercised so little care of their equipment that they have misplaced the remote control. Instructions maybe, original carton is fine but remotes...

Instructions maybe, original carton is fine but remotes... e&oe... Yep! I see stuff all the time with a missing remote. I once bought a high end stereo unit without the remote. I thought no big deal, I'll just buy one right??? WRONG! I got the unit home, went on line to find and buy the remote for it. WOW, a whopping 375 dollars (US) just for the remote. Well, the bad thing was without the remote you could not program the unit. I did not buy the remote. So I wound up selling the stereo for less than what I bought it for and told the guy that bought it about the remote. He told me no big deal. Hum.. I hope he wasn't going to do the same thing, even after I told him my story. EB

So I did try out the amp with the new foot switch. So much better. Without the foot switch I could not get both sides of the amp to work at the same time. I now can. Hum.. I wish people would quit miss placing the foot switches. EB

Good result Eddie. The amp sounded great in the clips so you deserve to be pleased now you have the footswitch. I do think it's a little idiotic designing the amp so it has to rely on a footswitch though. I have a high end DAB (digital audio broadcast) radio here like that, without the remote, all you can do is alter the volume or turn it on and off. Just plain daft.

Yep, I have wondered why they would make stuff like this. I have even seen car stereo systems mad the same way. The system is totally relied on the remote. You can turn them on and off without the remote, but not much more is going to happen without the remote. I just don't get it. But I am getting older. HA! I seen just the other day, you can now get an app on your phone, to operate everything on your car. I did say EVERYTHING. The app will also go beyond that, it will also woke for your house as well. A friend of mine now uses his phone as his guitar amp. I did look into those. They do sound pretty good. But they still sound digital to me. But the nice thing about that is you don't need to carry a amp with your guitar. You just plug in or use Blue Tooth (if the PA system has blue tooth) So I bet in a few more years that is were thing will go. Even if amps for guitars are still being made I bet they will have blue tooth in them so you can connect to the PA easier. They may already have that. But yes I don't understand why they make things to work soully off of remotes and foot switches. EB

Hey Eddie, I was researching your new amp and it seems that the SS60 has been discontinued by Fender and most folks were stating deep regret at that fact. It seems that the SS60 is extremely highly thought of. Good catch!

It seems that the SS60 is extremely highly thought of. Good catch! e&oe... Yes I had read that too. Seems people like the 22 because it's not as heave as the 60. But they are having a lot of problems with the 22. The 60 for what ever reasons, is more dependable. But I have read were a lot of people are trying to get Fender to bring back the 60. They also make a twin version on this amp. But really the amp is not as heave as the Fender Hot Rod deluxe I know because I have them both. LOL! EB
