Just a random disclosure, not (directly) guitar related; I'm going to New Orleans today. It's exciting but sadly I only have 24 hours before heading back.
It's a freebie. No one's going to turn that down and I've always wanted to see The Big Easy.
I know, I know- watch your step...

How was your trip?

It was everything I hoped. The highlight for me was the guy playing the calliope (steam powered pipe organ) right up there on top of the Natchez paddle steamer. He was playing a continuous selection of old southern melodies. presumably to entice passengers. Too much to relate but any of you guys lucky enough to have been to NOLA would probably grin and give a little wink! I've always loved the USA. It never fails to disappoint...
Edit: Did I write that? Really? I just read it and realised what I had written. Of course I meant that the USA never fails to please. Respect to all of you that said nothing! ;<D

Been there a lot! I lived in FL for 9 years. So we would go for the weekend. Good food and great music all over the French Quarter. They say once you go there you will always want to go back. It's an odd but fun place. Glad you enjoyed it there. EB

Another random disclosure;
That's it Folks; I'm officially in my seventh decade and coincidentally find myself as of today retired or unemployed (redundancy). Not quite sure which it is yet but getting used to the idea! How random can you get ;<D
Hoping to find the time to get my "workshop" sorted out!

Well congrats on all three. 70 is quite a mile stone I hope you're in good health and shape to enjoy it after all those years on the job. I'm hoping four or five years I'll be able to join the ranks of retirees. Put me at about sixty six. Definitely hope you can get your shop in shape make some dust.

Don't write me off yet Dane! I'm 60. That means that I've embarked upon my seventh decade!
Actually, my job was made redundant. I had planned on going at 62, so the redundancy has basically paid off about 18 months from the next two years salary. Win-win then! but I'm still trying to get my head around it though. It all seems a bit surreal.

Congratulations.
Stay busy in that retirement. My dad retired early and never really found his footing. As I close in on that date I think of him and I try to imagine how I could best fill my days with something worthwhile and rewarding. Hey...maybe building and playing guitars!
Best of luck, and please continue to hang around with us.

Oh, I sure took that wrong. Than I'm a year older than you and still can't plan on retiring for about 5 years. I should have been born rich instead of good looking.
