After seeing the guitars I've been making and refurbing my two oldest 4 and 7 want me to make them guitars. I'm pretty confident I can make them in the scaled down size but I'm wondering about hardware would I need a smaller bridge with closer string spacing or would a regular sized one do I know the neck will be shorter but do I need to then make it thinner as well

here is what I did.... I made two of my grand kids cigar box guitars. You can make them electric or not. You have the option of making the neck any size you want. I like to use the Tele neck pickup for the reason they have that cool cap over the pickup and wont show any extra polls for the pickup. Or you can use a sick on pickup inside the body. they are a lot of fun to build, my grand kids love them. One I made as a 6 string and the is a 4 string. another thing about the cigar box is it's size. Just a thought! But I guess you could still build a small guitar. I would use the same kind of pickup in it. But you would still need to make some knind of a bridge if you are wanting to go small on the string spacing. Humm You might be able to mod a hard tail bridge to get the spacing you would need for little hands. I'm thinking of the kind like the ashtray stile they use for teles, with the 3 saddles. You might be able file the slot closer together.
