Just thought I'd mention how much I like your headstock design.

Thanks chezvoz, from what I've seen during my research the straight string pull really limits the design options. So I tried to kinda of add elevations to make it more interesting. I think I'll like it more once the tuners are on.

I like the headstock too. Only con is buying a set of tuners for that config.

I found a set of locking Hipshot tuners for a reasonable price. Before that I kept trying to figure out how many sets of inlines and 3x3s I would need to end up even down the road somewhere with who knows how many different peghead configs. My brain popped.

cool! I like that you too have found products that don't work like they should. For me I always come back to the tung-oil. I like not having to spray the finish on. the other reason I like rub on finish is you don't have to wait weeks for it to cure. Good video.... EB

Thanks Eddie, I would not bad mouth a product that I had not really given every chance but on three separate projects with different application strategies and still no joy. I'm done with it!
I'm still not happy with my results on this guitar and I'm out of Tru-Oil and of course it's outlawed in Ca. and I would have to wait on it and/or on lacquer from Stew so I'm continuing on with brushing lacquer I have on hand and spray on Minwax lacquer from my store. I'm not a fan of rattle cans but I think this will work in the end. Only time will tell.

This finish has been all over the map. This is the back after I screwed it up by accidentally using lacquer thin to wet sand, which I mentioned in another thread. The front was giving me no end of grief and I was not about to refinish again so I striped the whole thing and am going oil and wax. Could have been playing it a month ago but I love banging my head against walls.

I don't know but it looks great to me. True I'm only expanding the images on my 'phone and perhaps not getting sufficient resolution but I'd be well pleased with myself if I could get a finish like that Dane. Maybe a look on the PC then, I don't fire it up very often these days.

I don't think I made myself clear. Nothing wrong with the back even after the screw up but the front got the better of me so it's all striped off now and I will be waxing it to night. A different look but an awesome look as well.
