No sir, the shipping across the Pond kind of wipes out any perceived idea of a bargain, and reading on it appears that they are all raided guitars and as such you can be expect to encounter dismantler's "flaws" I have purchased from Warmoth several times because I can swallow the shipping cost as being acceptable within the total outlay. But the GFS deals represent an opportunity for my American friends? Steve.

I don't need anything, but the temptation is too great. May have to buy a body or two.

For me I don't buy anything from GFS anymore. I bought a guitar case from them, they sent me the wrong one, and wanted me to send it back, with me paying the shipping, to send it back and pay for shipping for the exchange. I could have bought another case for the amount of shipping. They have no phone number so you can call someone. It's all done through their web site. I told them if that was the case, they lost a customer for good. Any company that won't stand behind their product is not good company to do business with. Their emails back to me were not handled in the best ways. They were rude and could care less in loosing a customer. Sorry for rant, but sometimes I don't get it! EB

I have only ever bought one item from them- a really high output Tele neck pick up that I have concealed beneath an Esquire scratchplate (pick guard?). There was really no problem at all and they courteously handled my advance questions regarding the height of the pick up (which was obviously a major consideration) Still, one transaction is no basis upon which to recommend a company (or otherwise for that matter) Then again, I would be of the same disposition as Eddie if I had been treated that way. BTW, over here, if they had sent an incorrect item, they would have been required by law to foot the bill for the return despatch costs.) Steve.

I've had very good service with GFS and I like their pick ups so far. I have never needed to return anything so I can't comment on that.
As far as the necks and bodies go I don't like buying used or damaged things I can't actually see. But it goes farther then that. Since I build custom guitars I don't want any parts builds out there that could be construed as my custom work. Plus I don't want anymore guitars piled up around the house just for me to pick up once every six months or so.
The one time I did need to return something purchased on line it was from Stew Mac and they were great. Sent me the new part with a return label and I just had to box it back up and stick the label on. A lot of folks bad mouth Stew for their prices but good service is worth something as well.

I had bought a lot of stuff from GFS, and that is what got to me. I can't tell you how many pickups I bought form them. But I did find someone else that sells the same pickups but without the GFS name on it. They meter out close or the same as the GFS. As long as you order and say nothing, then yes they do send things out fairly fast. But one time I tried to return something, You thought I way pointing a gun at their head.
I have bought and been buying from Stew Mac way back when. Use to get a lot form them as well. Then eBay came on the seen years later, and found I could get the same products at a lesser price. I know that good service is worth something... and I do respect that a lot!! But for me, I also need to get things, for my hobby as inexpensively as I can. But I still buy from them from time to time. EB

All -- I recently bought some parts for a customer from GFS. I had not been on their website in a while and it looked like they had really expanded their range of products. I was particularly intrigued by the Steve Brown guitars. Here is the link: www.guitarfetish.com/SBS-Guitars-_c_1186.htmlSteve Brown is a great guitarist and has played with a lot of huge acts. His latest project is Ace Frehley's new album. Ace was the original lead guitarist in KISS. I would like to hear from anyone who has tried these. John
