All -- We love going to Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. I used to go in their old shop on Broadway back in the '70s and bought my first guitar from them over 20 years ago. Well, the transformation of Downtown Nashville into a "Hillbilly Bourbon Street" is now almost complete. Gruhn Guitars is moving and will be out on the south side of town starting June 15th, 2013. Here is the story: www.mmrmagazine.com/7929/news/gruhn-guitars-reopening-at-new-location-june-15th/It will be cool to have somewhere to park! Visit them if you find yourself in Nashville. John

Now it is guitars.com/One of my friends bought that domain when she worked there back in the early days. She told me she did a search and it was available...and she couldn't believe it. Who would have known that this internet thing would be such a big deal! John

Well made web site. Friend of mine was at Gruhn's late last year. And happen to snap a pic of a work order. I was staggered by the pricing. John having been a tech for years at Carter's prolly won't flinch at these prices. Of course this is based on a 1943 Martin D-28.

Dane -- That is a pretty steep repair, but it is a 1943 D-28, and the cost of entry to get somebody to take that on is going to be high.
A high-risk repair job like that is going to be steep on a guitar worth potentially between $50,000 and $100,000.
