Announced today: Dickey Betts passes -- he was 80. He was the most influential guitarist in my journey of learning and understanding lead guitar technique. For me, he set the standard for creative and harmony laden solos. I am sad and angry so please forgive me for getting on my soapbox but the warning on cigarette packaging is not a joke.

Always sad to hear when the heroes and those who shaped the landscape of our lives musical journey pass on. Fortunately we have a vast collection of music to remind us of them everyday.

This is a sad one - he played on the soundtrack of my guitar adventure.
Completely understand being angry.
Going to listen to Fillmore East later this afternoon. Makes me want to find a Goldtop.
