I pulled the knob stems out of two of my pots while trying to do a deep clean on my sweet, old Ripper. Is there a way to put them back in? They are not broken in any way, just dislocated from the pots. I kindly thank you for any help you may send along.

Rocket...love those old bass guitars.
It has been my experience that if you pull the shaft out of the pot, there is no way to reinstall it.
Note to all - this is a common challenge when pulling a volume or tone knob from a vintage pot. It is also common with newer import pots.
I have put new guts in vintage pot case...a transplant to preserve the date codes on the pot. This might be an option for you but it is a pretty tough job. It seems like there are some folks doing this work...might try a Google search.
You might consider installing some new pots, too. Whatever you do, save the old pots and keep them in the case or a safe place.
Give us an update on what you decide.
Good luck, John

...and by the way, watch those "original" date coded pots. Lots of vintage hacks out there are selling old cases with new guts. I prefer a pot to be scratchy when I buy and old guitar...probably means it is authentic!

Very good tip John. That has never crossed my mind before. Something so obvious staring you in the face... Steve.
