Got new strings on it plugged it in its fun to play gonna take some getting used to put flatwounds on it gotta get used to those too fingers dragged a little on the strings so I put some fast fret on and that loosened things up a bit overall it's fun good for the way I play although the high e seems a little dead have to figure out why that is but I like it only tried it through my little practice amp need to run it through my bigger amp and my pedal now it's on to finishing my saga got my dyes and I'm gonna try to do a burst hopefully it comes out good as If I mess up I don't have any more room to sand off and start over

That e string might be "fretting out" so to speak. Raise the string at the saddle or give a little relief to the neck. See how that works.

is the E sting a little dead open? Is so it could be the nut slot is too tight, or the saddle at the bridge in pinching the string. If it's doing it while fingering it on the fret board I would still say look at the bridge saddle. Flat wounds are a little thicker string. I use them all the time on my jazz guitars. Most of the time I have to work on the G string saddles because the flat wound have a wound G string.
On flat wounds too, I clean them before I use them. They always seem to have some kind of film on them. Then I use something on them to make them slick.

Sounds to me like the string is being pinched to me. Or it could be a bad string.

If you are absolutely certain the strings not rattling on the finger board then for sure it could only be the nut, bridge or wanky string.

For a loong time my personnal setups were very low action. Sometimes at the cost of some string rattle depending on weather. I came to my senses in recent years and have edged up the action.
