OK... Here we go. I did the color sanding and buffing on this. I have been giving it some out side time to help speed up the curing process. Plus I need to get on this and get it done. I might have a job in another state and If they call needing me I will need to make a move. This can happen in the next month or two of it could happen in the next two weeks. More on that later. So here she is so far. I still need to wire everything up. I am going to use magnets for the cover for the controls so that there won't be any screws showing. At least that is my hope. On the P90 stile pickups all I did was flip the cover over and painted them black, So the blue is still on the other side. But the blue just didn't look good on the yellow and orange. I did try to stain them yellow but it was too yellow. It just didn't look right. I think it looks good with out the pickup ring around the middle pickup. What do you all think? ;D

Wow eddie! That thing looks just plain gorgeous! Gosh, that body came out incredible!
I think the middle pickup looks great without the ring.
Also, I don't quite understand how you plan to use magnets for the control cavity plate to be held in. Could you elaborate?
And I'm happy to hear that you might have a job! That's great!

Hey Eddie
first of all great that you that might have a job!
and second, That guitar is awesome. The pickups look great and I don't think that the single coil needs a ring. It might be even too much if you put the pick-up ring on. But that's just my thought.
Can't wait to see this finished ;D

I'm glad you turned over the pup cover inserts. That blue pearl would have been gawd-offal with the peach burst.

I'm glad you turned over the pup cover inserts. That blue pearl would have been gawd-offal with the peach burst. Me too! But you will have to take my word for it, it is orange. I guess the flash and the lights above make it look peach. When I get it all done I'll see if I can make it look more like it does in your hand. Plus it looks more peach on my lap top than it does on my desk top PC. It looks more orange on it. Don, once I can figure out how to glue on the magnets for the cover I'll take pictures of it and post them so you can see how I did it. (That's if it works out)

OK.. I'm on my second try of trying to get the magnets glued in. The first time they moved on me and wound up setting to high, so I had to pull them off and reset them. I hope it work this time. If not I'll just put in some screws. I got the stickers in today for the head stock and the sticker with the peoples names that have contributed to the project. I put that sticker on the neck plate. I hope I remembered every ones name. LOL! Please If I did over look anyone it was not my intention to do that. I don't think I did. I also had to respray the neck for the 3rd time so it will be another 2 to 3 weeks for that to cure. If the weather stays nice out like it has been then it may not take as long for it cure. I'll set it out side so that the sun will dry the thing out a little faster. Don't worry I'll make sure the sun wont over heat it. I put in the sun like some people doing a sun tan 15 to 20 min at one time then I let it cool off and do it again. So far it work like a charm. So no pictures yet, as soon as I see if my magnets work or not, I'll have some of that and I should have it all wired up by then. Then it will be waiting on the neck. So close but yet so far to hear her ring off! Boy I can hardly wait!!!

More than likely AZ. That is where one of the offers are. The other one I'm waiting to hear back from is from here in FL. That job is like 10 Hr away. That one is suppose to let me know this week one way or the other. So I'm still in limbo!

I can hardly with to hear it too!
I do hope to have it all wired up today and the back cover done as well. Then it will have to sit for a week or two for the neck to finish curing. Once the neck is done it's put the neck on check all the adjustments plug it in and play it till my fingers fall off then super glue them back on and play it some more!

OK my magnets worked! I'll tell you what if you want some glue that work really good you have to try out the Titebond 3 stuff. It works as good as the CA 20 to hold things. But any way here are some pictures of it and OH it's all wired up! I went ahead and wired it up with no mini switches for now I like the clean look with just the knobs. I may later on put a push pull in it for the staked singe coil. I use the knobs off my Saga LP just because I like the look better. So now It's waiting on the neck. WOW! So close...

That's an amazing idea with the magnets. I'll definitely have to try that one myself...

I was going to use the kind that you push on to get it to come up. But I got to thinking about the guitar resting up against the players body and with enough pressure I was afraid of it opening. The other thing was I tried to use the magnetic tape but it was not strong enough. So I bought the ones in the picture. They are super strong and was under 2 dollars for a pack of them. I need to find some Velcro to hold the battery in, to help it from moving around in the cavity. I'll to that tomorrow sometime.

Excellant, throw in a battery and hook it up to the amp. Tap on the pickups with a screwdriver and you can test all of the controls and even hear the different overdrives. John and the crew
