I find it funny how some things will gets going! Hey I like your cigar box ax. I also like the MOP eagle and I like the Viking SG, but having a bunch of copper pipe hanging off a Flying V looks crappy. And I used to build cars to. I like chopped channeled rods as much as the next guy. I would not however take the perfect stocker and build a fender less high boy out of it like my goofy brother in law is currently doing. And it's kind of fun to go against the flow once in a while and get some discussion going. d

Yeah I guess some builds are out there. But it is still an expression of that person. I know what you are saying about a pres-teen car but I too have done that. I took a 53 Buick (and a few others) and turned them into a 50's custom. I even did some for others. I chopped a 51 Chevy 6 inches and put it on the ground. It too was a rust free all original when I did it. But this was done in CA where the cars were so plentiful. For the most part I built cars the way I wanted them to be. And yes many of the others that want there cars all original would always say to me why would you cut up a car and do that to it? I always asked them why not?
I find that in guitars so many have there own ideas of what they think is there perfect guitar. I may not like them all and I didn't like all custom cars but that is what makes us all different. And that is why I love the USA we can express our selves in many ways. It is one freedom I hope is never taken away from us.
But I still find it funny how something can get us all going. I posted this just to get some ideas of what is out there and too see what people like and dis like. And so for so good.
If it were not for the customizers we would never gotten past single coil pickups and humbuckers. Kind of like custom cars and hot rods. A lot of things in cars today are form customization of days gone by. I wonder what the guitar world in the next 10 to 15 years will be like? Will they stop making guitars out of wood by then? Well, I guess we will have to wait and see.
