Thinking out of the BOX?

Hey since there has been some talk about thinking out of the box I though I would post these.

Has anyone else have some cool looking guitars?

This one looks like the first one but in telecaster style




Don't think they are practical to play with... I would be scared to damage them

Btw cool guitars Eagle wasn't there a wood carved guitar in the saga saga's? They look a bit like those you've posted

Yes there is a Tele in there. I forgot about that one! There is something cool about them. I like the ones you posted as well!
But It would be fun to have at least one if nothing else just to hang it on a wall and let the conversions begin!

Yeah just a wallhanger seems a little too fragile too play.
On the ultimate-guitar.com build forum they have a topic where everyone shows his guitar which they have built there a quite a lot cool ones. but that topic is about 30 pages long so take your time if you go through that

The 2nd one shows the build on the web site I got the picture from. The guy that did it has a few guitars that he build in the extreme of guitar carving. I would post the web site but I can't seem to find it on this computer so I'll look on my other one to see if I have it saved on there.

Well they use to show the build. But they to say what it is made of. Along with some of the others they have done. I posted the web site.

This is the ultimate thinking out of the box. I quote of ultimate guitar:

''I started out with this with a goal to make it as cheap and simple as I possibly could. This started out as some who-knows-what-the-company-is body that I got for $15. I originally was going to repaint it, but as I started sanding it down, I liked the way it looked, so I stopped. It wasn't meant to look relic or anything. I didn't have a pickguard, so I wired stuff up and duct-taped it in. I put the volume through the side. I put on a neck I had that was missing part of the nut, so there are only five strings(no high E). I didn't really want the bottom part of the body, so I cut it off and put duct tape over the wood. The whole thing cost about $30.''

That Hotguitarist site has some really good looking guitars especially the bikeguitar.

Duct tape as a design factor, gosh, why didn't I think of that. I don't know I may be way out on a limb on this but most of these guitars look like crap to me and some go as far as being abominations. Leo ( is he still alive?) and Les are rolling over in their graves. Really there is so much art and beauty in a well built guitar that all this bling just makes me ill. Maybe a little hyperbole but really I just don't get it. Add it to my list.

It's just people being different. I am always reading about think out of the box. I do agree there is a lot to be said for a well built guitar.
Some people didn't like my custom cars some said the same thing about them. I would chop the tops put them on the ground and then park them next to an all Original car of the same make at car runs. But the cars I built would have a lot more people look at them than an all original car.
I felt my custom car were works of art but I know some would say that the all original ones where too. But anyone can bolt on a part and take them to someone and have them painted but not every one can shape metal into art.
For me there is a lot of art that went into some of these guitars. The all can't be the same thing all the time. Just like not everyone likes the same music.
No matter what it is in life there is always someone that will change it. Some good and some not so good. The guitar with the duct tape was just a joke.
The Less Paul with the MOP eagle on it I almost bought it I was beat out on eBay.

Like I said I may be out on a limb with that post and I did say most of them not all were crap. I may be weird but so be it, I don't like most music videos I've seen either.

Yeah I don't like most of the videos and I too don't like all the strange guitars but I do like art well most of it anyway.

I think most of the guitars are just used as canvas is used for paintings.
But that duct taped guitar is just awefull that is just undiscussable ;D
