We're always talkin' 'bout building guitars, I thought I'd post something about playing 'em... Not too well, unfortunetly! Dead FlowersAbout three hours this morning... ending is a wreck, and I'm hoping to comp the lead guitars onto one track....

Well, I used Magix Samplitude Music Studio for my software... its fairly unknown here, but somewhat popular across the pond...
I created the drum and bass tracks with Band in a Box. Then imported the MIDI file into Samplitude. The drum sounds come from EZ Drummer...
I recorded two rhythm tracks; one acoustic and one electric. I used my Peavey T-60 for all the electric tracks (the acoustic is a cheapo Carlo Robelli).
I then recorded three lead guitar tracks, with the intent to comp them down to one... but in my laziness, I just picked the two that complimented each other best, and panned them to each side.
I recorded one lead vocal track, and two harmony tracks (one high, and one low). The high harmony track I ran through a plug-in that created 4 parts out of the one... so the backing vocals sound like about 6 people...
I ran the entire mix through a reverb, and some compression...
That's about it.
One of my favorite songs to play out - pretty easy to sing, and most every other musician knows it (at least, in my crowd).
Thanks for listening!!!

Oh Gezzz I feel dumb! I know that song! Sorry I just got home from Alabama and there was a lot going on when I was trying to listen to it. I liked the over all sound you have going on. Some real good tone's going on Good work. I know it's a lot of work but is a lot of fun to do recordings. I also use to make demos for people. I loved doing that for people that couldn't afford to have a demo made.
Where in FL are you? I'm in Fort Walton Beach.

Where in FL are you? I'm in Fort Walton Beach. I'm in St. Petersburg... My "studio" is pretty small, but I truly enjoy it. I also help people out with demos, but I am a bit limited... no room for real drums - so all the drums have to be MIDI... stuff like that. On the other hand, its amazing what a simple setup can produce!

Great job! It's a ton of fun to listen to. Now I've got another jammin' tune to play out with in my basement! Wifey can't stand Mick so I have no Stones in my collection.
Personally I like the train wreck ending.

Personally I like the train wreck ending. Chris Its kinda growin' on me, too! Sorta fits... Thanks for the kind words. Its been awhile since I've done anything in my studio... Last week, I was at a local bar - my friend was playing there (he and his girlfriend have a duet act). He called me up on stage for a couple songs. We did Dead Flowers, and Knocking on Heavens Door. Those were the only songs I could remember the chords and lyrics to.... I feel like an out-of-shape boxer! I gotta get back into the gym!!!
